A wire electrode feeding apparatus or the like is provided, suitable for feeding a wire electrode along its original path without deviating from its original path. A conversion unitfeeds the wire electrode from a feeding inletto a feeding outletusing a machining liquid. A rollerchanges the feeding direction of the wire electrode. A discharging unitdischarges the machining liquid toward the feeding outletin a direction tangential to the contact face of the roller, to generate a flow of the machining liquid. On the other hand, a diverted flow path for the machining liquid is defined along the contact face of the rollerfrom the feeding outletside to the feeding inletside. An intake unittakes in air according to the pressure of the machining liquid to supply the air to the diverted flow path.

Wire electrode feeding apparatus and wire electrode feeding method

An electrical discharge machining device provided, using a floating capacitance to provide a machining target with improved surface roughness. An electrical discharge machining device 1 includes a current supply circuit 3 that supplies a current to a gap between an electrode 17 and a machining target 19 so as to provide electrical discharge machining. A floating capacitance portion 21 occurs between the electrode 17 and the machining target 19 in the electrical discharge machining. The floating capacitance portion 21 supplies its stored charge to the gap in the electrical discharge machining. A capacitor 11 stores a charge before the floating capacitance portion 21 is discharged. After the floating capacitance portion is discharged, the capacitor 11 charges the floating capacitance portion 21. The floating capacitance portion 21 is discharged again after it is charged. Such an operation generates a pulse current, thereby providing electrical discharge machining.

The present invention provides a wire electrode supply apparatus for suppressing wire electrode driving vibration for wire electrodes having a wide range of diameters and formed of various materials, thereby improving processed surface roughness. The wire electrode supply apparatus includes a back tension adjustment unit that adjusts a back tension of the wire electrode drawn from a source bobbin, a tension applying unit, and a constant pressure ejecting unit that ejects the wire electrode with constant pressure and rate after the transference via the tension applying unit and an electrical discharge machining unit. The tension applying unit includes a low tension applying unit that applies a tension to the wire electrode, and a high tension applying unit that can supply a higher tension. After the high tension applying unit supplies a tension, the low tension applying unit supplies a tension. Otherwise, only the low tension applying unit supplies a tension.

Wire electrode supply apparatus and wire electrode supply method

A process for identifying existence of a welded spot on a cut-out part and retention of the cut-out part on a workpiece in a wire electrode is disclosed which makes it possible to go ahead process steps while identifying automatically the retention of the cut-out part on a workpiece, ensuring unmanned work of the wire electrode discharge processor. The process includes an inspection step to detect whether the wire electrode comes into contact with a welded spot while moving the wire electrode along the cutting path of kerf in the workpiece, after the wire electrode has come into contact with the welded spot, a step goes ahead to one of next procedures, and after the wire electrode has come into no contact with the welded spot, a step goes ahead to generate an alarm and the wire electrical discharge is ceased.

Process for identifying existence of partially welded spots and retention of cut-out part in wire-cut electrical discharge machining

In a method of welding a cut-out part with a workpiece at a preselected area in a thickness direction of the workpiece in a wire electrical discharge machining to retain temporarily or tentatively the part on the workpiece, a wire electrodetilted in posture cuts the workpieceto form a slant cutting surfaceat a spark discharge location in a desired contourin the workpiece. The wire electrodeafter kept in an upright posture executes the welding process on the workpiecealong the slant cutting surface. A plurality of the welded spots is formed over a preselected length at preselected areas in the thickness direction of the workpiece. Method of making partially welded spots in wire-cut electrical discharge machining

A method of cutting out a part from a workpiece with making partially welded spots in wire electrical discharge machining to keep the part against falling apart away from the workpiece. There is no need to cut anew the welded spot left as in the conventional process. The cut-out parts are cut off at a time after breakage of the welded spots caused by an external impact. The electric processing condition applied across an inter-electrode space between the wire electrode and the workpiece is changed from a cutting phase to a welding phase in which the wire electrode is fused partially at some spots along a cutting path of a predetermined contour on the workpiece to weld together the cut-out part and the workpiece at the fused spot on the wire electrode.

Method of cutting out part with making partially welded spots in wire-cut electrical discharge machining

A wire electrical discharge machine that reliably feeds the wire electrode at high speed into an upper wire head, holes in the work and a lower wire head. This wire electrical discharge machine moves the holder, which has a vertically extending feed pipe secured thereto, up or down at high speed by activating the cylinder device. At the same time, the lower end of the wire electrode is clamped by the clamping members and the anneal rollers are driven in the reverse direction to tense the wire electrode. With the wire electrode tensed in this way, the anneal processing is performed. This construction makes the machine compact. Further, when the wire electrode is to be inserted into the holes in the work, it is fed at low speed by the anneal rollers. When the wire electrode rides on the jet stream in the jet stream guide pipe, the wire electrode is moved at high speed by the anneal rollers to reduce the time taken by the wire electrode feeding.
