The intermediate supply flow path and the intermediate discharge flow path are formed such that a minimum distance between an opening of the intermediate supply flow path on a side facing the liquid storage part and an opening of the intermediate discharge flow path on the side facing the liquid storage part is greater than a minimum distance between a liquid inlet and a liquid discharge outlet on a predetermined first opening forming surface.

Provided is a binder for battery electrodes which includes a polymer including: structural units (1) derived from a (meth)acrylate monomer (A) having a hydroxyl group; structural units (2) derived from a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate monomer (B); and structural units (3) derived from a reactive surfactant (C). This binder is used to prepare electrodes, and produce batteries such as lithium ion secondary batteries. Provided are: an aqueous binder which has a low environmental impact, exhibits excellent binding properties, and, notably, does not cause oxidation degradation under an electrode environment; and an electrode and a battery which use said binder.

An object of the present invention is to provide an ink jet head and the like that are small, are capable of achieving a higher resolution, increasing ejection stability, and lowering production costs, and include flow paths capable of circulating ink. An ink jet head of the present invention includes: a head chip including nozzles, pressure chambers that communicate with the respective nozzles, piezoelectric elements that correspond to the respective pressure chambers, discrete circulation flow paths that branch from ink flow paths extending from inlets of the pressure chambers to outlets of the nozzles and are capable of discharging the ink in the pressure chambers, and a common circulation flow path with which at least two of the discrete circulation flow paths communicate; and a common supply liquid chamber that is provided on the upper surface of the head chip, and stores the ink to be commonly supplied to the respective pressure chambers through ink supply holes formed in the upper surface of the head chip.

An embodiment of an inkjet may include a plurality of nozzles to eject ink, a pressure chamber individually communicated with each nozzle and filled with ink, a pressure generator to eject ink by applying pressure to the pressure chamber, an inlet including a narrow portion with a flow path narrower than the pressure chamber and structured to supply ink to the pressure chamber, and a circulation flow path structured to discharge ink in the pressure chamber from near the nozzle. Viscosity resistance of the circulation flow path may be smaller than viscosity resistance of the nozzle, and impedance of the circulation flow path may be equal to or more than 0.5 times of the impedance of the inlet.

In a piezoelectric device, an ultrasound probe, and a droplet discharge unit of the present invention, each of a pair of first and second electrodes is placed on a piezoelectric member having a single orientation in a direction perpendicular to a thickness direction thereof to extend in a direction perpendicular to the thickness direction or along the thickness direction and in a direction perpendicular to the direction of the orientation. Therefore, the piezoelectric device of the present invention has excellent piezoelectric properties. Further, the ultrasound probe and the droplet discharge unit of the present invention have good efficiency.

The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an aqueous binder having high adhesiveness, that in particular does not exhibit oxidative degradation in an electrode environment, and having little environmental load; and an electrode and a battery that use same. Disclosed is a battery electrode binder containing: (A) a constituent unit derived from a monomer having a hydroxyl group; and (B) a constituent unit derived from a polyfunctional (meth)acrylate having no more than 5 functions. An electrode is prepared using this binder and is used in a battery such as a lithium-ion secondary battery.

An object of the present invention is to provide an actuator allowing a control of displacement and configured to offer a high degree of freedom in designing, and a drive device and an imaging device including the actuator. To achieve the object, an actuator is adopted including a movable part deformable in accordance with heat generation and a control section controlling the amount of deformation of the movable part. In the actuator, the movable part is structured with a plurality of portions including a base portion, a force generating portion, and a heat generating portion being stacked, the force generating portion generating force in accordance with heating, the heat generating portion generating heat in accordance with a current supply. The control section controls the amount of deformation of the movable part by controlling the current supply to the heat generating portion based on an electrical resistance in the heat generating portion.

A biasing spring is interposed between a coupling plate and a covering section while being compressed from its natural length. The biasing spring biases, by its resilient force, a lens unit toward a &#x2212;Z side to bring a surface of the lens unit at the &#x2212;Z side into contact with an abutment portion of a fixing frame section. When a temperature of an actuator is equal to or lower than a predetermined temperature, a biasing force of the biasing spring surpasses a force generated in the actuator, and thus the lens unit is not moved. When the actuator is heated up to a temperature equal to or higher than the predetermined temperature, the lens unit is continuously moved in the +Z direction. Thereby, movement of a lens due to a change of an environmental temperature can be prevented.
