A nickel-chromium alloy with addition of silver used for ornamental purposes, such as for spectacles frames wherein silver particles of the alloy are arrayed in lines in substantially one direction. The average ratio of the longitudinal distance and width of the line is preferably more than 10.

Ornamental alloy material and method

A lead frame consists of a copper alloy containing 0.1 to 1% by weight of chromium and 0.001 to 0.5% by weight of zirconium and having a precipitate with a grain size of 0.5 to 50 .mu.m distributed therein at a rate of 1,000 to 10,000 grains/mm.sup.2. The lead frame is manufactured by casting a copper alloy containing 0.1 to 1% by weight of chromium and 0.001 to 0.5% by weight of zirconium by continuous casting, and performing rolling, a solution treatment, a cold working, and an age-hardening. The lead frame has an excellent bonding performance with an Au wire, hardness and bending strength, and is inexpensive.

Lead frame and method for manufacturing the same

An ornamental composite material has a covering of an Ni-, Au-, Ag- or Cu-base alloy, and a core of a mineral powder aggregate. A layer of a metal different from the metals of the alloy of the covering can be clad on the inner surface of the covering as needed. The ornamental composite material is preferably used for various parts of a spectacle frame.

Disclosed is a sealing material to be associated with soft glass, which comprises a soft glass-sealing alloy of an iron- nickel-chromium system containing about 40 to 55 wt. % of nickel and about 3 to 8 wt. % of chromium, and an oxide layer formed on the surface thereof and having a sulfur content of not more than 15 ppm and a phosphorus content of not more than 20 ppm.

A thermocouple instrument which includes a thermocouple element formed of two dissimilar conductors joined at the ends thereof; an inner protecting metal tube for containing said thermocouple element together with an insulating material and electrically insulated from said thermocouple element via the insulating material; and an outer protecting metal tube in which said inner protecting metal tube is inserted. In this thermocouple instrument, the thermal expansion coefficient of the metal forming said inner protecting metal tube is equal to or higher than the thermal expansion coefficient of the metal forming said outer protecting tube, and accordingly the inner protecting metal tube is rigidly engaged within the outer protecting metal tube with excellent vibration resistance and impact resistance.
