An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for producing a binder resin, from which a toner having excellent low-temperature fusing property, roller release properties, and pulverization properties, is obtained, a binder resin, and a toner for development of electrostatic images including the binder resin. An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for producing a binder resin including the following steps (1) and (2):

Method for producing binder resin

To provide a toner for electrophotography and a binder resin, exhibiting an excellent fog suppression capability. A toner for electrophotography and a binder resin each containing a resin A having at least a polyester moiety obtained through polycondensation of an alcohol component, a carboxylic acid component, and a polyhydroxyamine compound represented by the formula (1) in an amount of 0.01% by mass or more and 5.0% by mass or less based on the total amount of all the monomer components of the resin A.

Toner for electrophotography

To provide a toner for electrophotography exhibiting an excellent charge rise property, and a process for producing the same. [1] A toner for electrophotography containing a binder resin, and a polyhydroxyamine compound represented by the following formula (1) in an amount of 0.001 part by mass or more and 5.0 parts by mass or less per 100 parts by mass of the binder resin, and [2] a process for producing a toner for electrophotography, including: melt-kneading a toner raw material mixture containing a binder resin, and a polyhydroxyamine compound represented by the following formula (1) in an amount of 0.001 part by mass or more and 5.0 parts by mass or less per 100 parts by mass of the binder resin; and pulverizing a resulting melt-kneaded material.

A resin binder composition for a toner, containing a polyester resin, which is a polycondensate of a polyethylene terephthalate, a carboxylic acid component, and an alcohol component, wherein the polyethylene terephthalate contains a polyethylene terephthalate having a IV value of 0.40 or more and 0.75 or less, and wherein the alcohol component contains an aliphatic diol having a hydroxyl group bonded to a secondary carbon atom having 2 or more carbon atoms and 4 or less carbon atoms in an amount of 40% by mol or more and 100% by mol or less, a method for producing a polyester resin contained in the resin binder composition, and a toner for electrophotography containing the resin binder composition. The resin binder composition for a toner of the present invention is suitably used in the toner for electrophotography usable in development or the like of latent images formed in, for example, method for electrostatic image development, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like.

Binder resin composition for toners

A method for producing a toner for electrostatic image development including the step of melt-kneading a mixture containing a resin binder and a wax, wherein the resin binder contains an amorphous polyester (A) obtained by polycondensing an alcohol component containing an aliphatic diol (a) having 3 or 4 carbon atoms, the aliphatic diol having a hydroxyl group bonded to a secondary carbon atom, and an aliphatic diol (b) containing one or more &#x3b1;,&#x3c9;-linear alkanediols having 2, 4, 6 or 8 carbon atoms, and a carboxylic acid component. The toner for electrostatic image development can be suitably used in, for example, the development or the like of latent image formed in an electrostatic development method, an electrostatic recording method, an electrostatic printing method, or the like.

Method for producing toner for electrostatic image development

A resin binder for use in a toner, containing an amorphous polyester having a furan ring; and a toner for electrophotography, containing the resin binder. The resin binder for use in a toner of the present invention is suitably used in a toner usable in development of latent images formed in electrophotography, an electrostatic recording method, an electrostatic printing method, or the like.

Binder resin for toners

A polyester resin for a toner obtained by polycondensing a carboxylic acid component and an alcohol component, wherein the polyester resin for a toner is obtained using, as the carboxylic acid component and/or the alcohol component, a specified aromatic compound; a polyester resin for a toner obtained by polycondensing a reaction product obtained by treating a specified aromatic compound with a carboxylic acid having an unsaturated reactive group, a carboxylic acid component, and an alcohol component; a resin binder for a toner, containing the polyester resin for a toner; and a toner for electrophotography, containing the resin binder. The polyester resin for a toner of the present invention is suitably used for a resin binder of a toner used in developing and the like of latent images formed in electrophotography, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like.

Polyester resin for toner

A toner for electrostatic image development containing a resin binder and a releasing agent, wherein the resin binder contains a polyester A having a furan ring, and wherein the releasing agent contains an ester wax, and a method for producing the toner. The toner for electrostatic image development of the present invention can be suitably used in, for example, the development or the like of latent image formed in electrophotography, an electrostatic recording method, an electrostatic printing method, or the like.

Toner for electrostatic image development

A resin binder for a toner obtained by polycondensing a carboxylic acid component and an alcohol component in the presence of a lignin compound; a toner for electrophotography, containing the resin binder; and a method for producing a resin binder for a toner, including the step of polycondensing a carboxylic acid component and an alcohol component in the presence of a lignin compound. The resin binder for a toner of the present invention is suitably used as a resin binder of a toner used in development of latent images formed in electrophotography, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like.

Binder resin for toner

A method for producing a toner for electrostatic image development containing at least a resin binder and a charge control agent, including step 1: melt-kneading components containing a resin binder and a charge control agent to provide a melt-kneaded product; and step 2: pulverizing the melt-kneaded product, and classifying a pulverized product, wherein the resin binder contains a polyester A obtained by polycondensing an alcohol component containing 1,2-propanediol and a carboxylic acid component containing a rosin compound and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid compound having 6 to 10 carbon atoms, wherein 1,2-propanediol is contained in the alcohol component of the polyester A in an amount of 85% by mol or more. The toner for electrostatic image development obtained by the method of the present invention can be suitably used in, for example, the development or the like of latent image formed in electrophotography, an electrostatic recording method, an electrostatic printing method, or the like.

A resin binder for use in a toner for electrophotography, containing a polycondensation resin obtainable by polycondensing an alcohol component containing an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol having two or more secondary carbon atoms with a hydroxyl group bound thereto (an alcohol A), and a carboxylic acid component, wherein the alcohol A is contained in an amount of from 10 to 100% by mol, of the alcohol component; and a toner for electrophotography containing the resin binder. The toner for electrophotography of the present invention is suitably used in developing latent images formed in electrophotography, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like.

Electrophotographic toner

A polyester for a toner obtained by polycondensing an aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acid compound having a total number of hydroxy group or groups and carboxyl group or groups of 4 or more; an alcohol component containing an aliphatic diol having a hydroxyl group bound to a secondary carbon atom in an amount of 50% by mol or more; and a carboxylic acid component, provided that the aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic compound is not included, wherein the aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acid compound and the aliphatic diol having a hydroxyl group bound to a secondary carbon atom are in a molar ratio, i.e. the aliphatic hydroxycarboxylic acid compound/the aliphatic diol having a hydroxyl group bound to a secondary carbon atom, of from 0.05 to 0.8; a resin binder for a toner, containing the polyester; and a toner for electrophotography, containing the resin binder. The polyester for a toner of the present invention is suitably used for a resin binder of a toner usable in development or the like of latent images formed in, for example, electrophotography, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like.

Polyester for toner

A toner for non-contacting fusing containing toner matrix particles containing a resin binder and an external additive having an average particle size of from 10 to 100 nm, wherein the external additive is externally added to the toner matrix particles, wherein the resin binder contains one or more polyesters, wherein a carboxylic acid component of the polyester contains one or more isophthalic acid compounds and one or more fumaric acid/maleic acid compounds, wherein the isophthalic acid compound is contained in an amount of from 10 to 35% by weight, the fumaric acid/maleic acid compound is contained in an amount of from 1 to 15% by weight, and the isophthalic acid compound and the fumaric acid/maleic acid compound are contained in a total amount of from 20 to 36% by weight, of a total amount of the entire raw material monomers of the polyester in the resin binder, and wherein the toner has a softening point of from 90&#xb0; to 120&#xb0; C. The toner is suitably used in developing latent images formed in, for example, electrophotography, an electrostatic recording method, an electrostatic printing method, or the like.

Toner for non-contact fusing

A polyester resin for a toner, obtained by polycondensing a carboxylic acid component and an alcohol component, wherein the carboxylic acid component and/or the alcohol component contains an aromatic compound represented by the formula (Ia): wherein Ris a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, or a methoxy group; and Xis a hydrogen atom, an aldehyde group, an allyl group, a vinyl group, a methoxy group, or a hydroxyl group or carboxyl group which may have a linking group. The toner for electrophotography containing a polyester resin for a toner of the present invention is suitably used for a resin binder of a toner used in developing and the like of latent images formed in electrophotography, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like.

A toner containing a resin binder and a colorant, wherein the resin binder contains a crystalline resin and an amorphous resin, the crystalline resin containing a composite resin containing: a polycondensation resin component obtained by polycondensing an alcohol component containing an aliphatic diol having 2 to 10 carbon atoms, and a carboxylic acid component containing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid compound, and a styrenic resin component, and the amorphous resin containing a polyester obtained from an alcohol component containing an aliphatic diol in an amount of 60% by mol or more, and a carboxylic acid component. The toner of the present invention is suitably used in, for example, the development of a latent image formed in electrophotography, electrostatic recording method, electrostatic printing method or the like.
