A rotary electronic component of the present invention has a sealed structure for the upper part of a contact section toward the side of an operating knob. In this structure, a rotor with a lower ring magnet is rotatably disposed on a concavity of a case with an open top. The top of this concavity is sealed with a sheet. An operating member with operating knob provided with an upper ring magnet is disposed on the sheet so that the rotor and the operating member co-rotate by the attractive force between the magnets.

Rotary electronic component

The rotary electronic component contains a case for accommodating a functional element section, a rotary shaft supported by a bearing for actuating the functional element section, with the upper portion of the shaft upwardly protruding, and a length-adjusting shaft attached to the upper portion of the rotary shaft. The rotary electronic component further contains a fixing member with a linear section extending in a direction axially of the rotary shaft. The linear section is inserted between the rotary shaft and the length-adjusting shaft, whereby a secure connection between the two shafts is obtained.

Rotary electronic component and method of manufacturing the same

A rotary encoder includes a roller having substantially cylindrical shape, an inner shaft, a translucent cylindrical light guide shaft, a pair of holders, a light-emitting device, and a light-detecting device. The inner shaft is inserted and secured to a center hole of the roller, and has a slit at one end along a direction parallel to the axis thereof. The light guide shaft is inserted in the inner shaft so that one end of it is surrounded by the slit, and this guide has a first and second planes, and a first and second inclined planes. The first and second planes are formed on a lower side at both ends of the light guide shaft in parallel to the axis of the shaft. The first and second inclined planes are formed above the first and second planes at an angle of 45 degrees to the axis of the shaft, so that the two planes are substantially orthogonal to each other.
