An electronic tag is attached to a filter cartridge, which includes a filter. The electronic tag stores individual product information of the filter and wirelessly transmits the individual product information. A wireless receiver device is installed to a predetermined location of a vehicle, which is other than the filter cartridge and receives the individual product information transmitted from the electronic tag. A diagnostic device diagnoses whether the individual product information is received by the wireless receiver device or whether the filter cartridge installed in the vehicle has a desired filtering performance based on contents of the individual product information received by the wireless receiver device.

Fuel filter diagnostic system and filter cartridge

An ECU reduces a fuel flow rate discharged from an electric pump to the filter when a fuel temperature and a fuel pressure in the filter detected by a sensor portion drop. Since a mechanical pump continues to be driven without respect to the fuel quantity discharged from the electric pumps when the fuel flow rate discharged from the electric pump is decreased, a suction pressure is generated at an inlet of the filter. The fuel in a recirculation passage is introduced into the filter through a branch passage. As the result, relatively high temperature fuel is introduced into the filter to melt a solidified fuel causing a clogging of the filter.

Fuel supply apparatus

An apparatus is provided for driving an injector injecting fuel into an internal combustion engine. The injector is provided with a piezoelectric element to be charged and discharged. The apparatus comprises a calculator and a charger. The calculator calculates a command value to charge the piezoelectric element. The calculator includes correcting means that corrects the command value based on information indicating either an operation of the piezoelectric element or an electric characteristic of the apparatus. The charger charges the piezoelectric element in response to the corrected command value to accumulate a desired amount of electric energy at the piezoelectric element.

Apparatus and system for driving fuel injectors with piezoelectric elements

An injector drive device includes a power supply unit that is supplied with power from a battery mounted in a vehicle and generates a voltage higher than the voltage of the battery, and EDU having a drive unit that is supplied with power from the power supply unit and drives an injector. The drive unit is housed in a housing. The power supply unit is placed externally to the EDU, that is, externally to the housing, so that the housing need not be made large against heat generation of the power supply unit.

Injector drive device and injector drive system

During a short duration injection, a triangular geometry is drawn in terms of the injection rate with respect to time, while a trapezoidal geometry is drawn during a long duration injection. The ON timing of the drive pulse is determined to be at a valve opening pressure achieving time before the start point of formation in time of the geometry. An injection pulse duration is determined from 'the valve opening pressure achieving time+a needle rise time&#x2212;a valve closing pressure achieving time,' and then the OFF timing of the drive pulse is determined.

Fuel injection system

A fuel pump suctions fuel from a fuel tank and discharges the fuel. A discharge metering valve regulates an amount of the discharged fuel out of the suctioned fuel. The discharged amount is regulated by operating closing timing for closing the discharge metering valve through energization of the discharge metering valve. The fuel discharged by the fuel pump is pressure-fed to a common rail. A rotation angle interval between energizing operations of the discharge metering valve is lengthened when rotation speed of an output shaft of a diesel engine is high. Thus, a residual magnetic flux in the discharge metering valve is reduced. As a result, control of the fuel pressure can be suitably performed.

Fuel pressure controller

A control device of a fuel injection system of an engine calculates command injection timing for starting an injection at target injection timing, and a command injection period for obtaining a target injection quantity. The control device monitors a charging voltage of a capacitor immediately before the command injection timing and estimates the charging voltage at the command injection timing based on the monitored value. If the estimated value is less than a specified value, the control device performs correction for advancing the command injection timing and correction for lengthening the command injection period in accordance with the decrease in the charging voltage. Thus, an injector can start the injection at the target injection timing and can inject the target injection quantity of fuel.

Actuator drive system and fuel injection system

A control device executes an overlap injection operation, in which one of the plurality of injectors is energized first to inject fuel, and a next one of the plurality of injectors is energized to inject fuel after starting of the energization of the one of the plurality of injectors while the one of the plurality of injectors is still kept energized. The control device corrects an energization period of the next one of the injectors by lengthening the energization period of the next one of the injectors in comparison to a normal energization period of the next one of the injectors, which is set for a non-overlap injection operation of the next one of the plurality of injectors.

Fuel injection system executing overlap injection operation

A control system for controlling a control target apparatus provided to an engine includes a main ECU and a sub-ECU. The main ECU calculates at least one operational command value according to an operational state of the engine. The at least one operational command value is used to operate the control target apparatus. The sub-ECU is independent of the main ECU, and controls the control target apparatus non-autonomously and autonomously. In non-autonomous control of the control target apparatus, the sub-ECU corrects the at least one operational command value, which is calculated by the main ECU. The sub-ECU non-autonomously controls the control target apparatus by use of the corrected at least one operational command value corrected by the sub-ECU. In autonomous control of the control target apparatus, the sub-ECU autonomously controls the control target apparatus independently of the main ECU, when a predetermined condition is satisfied.

Engine control system

An ECU calculates a command injection amount based on a driving condition, and calculates an injection timing based on a detected fuel pressure. Further, the ECU calculates a provisional injection period, and calculates again an injection period based on the injection timing fuel pressure and the command injection amount when the injection timing fuel pressure is correctly detected.
