A marker for use in a living body includes an indicator part to be placed in a living body for a predetermined period of time, and the indicator part is configured to indicate information on the living body or information on the indicator part by means of a difference in X-ray image. Thus, there are provided the marker for use in a living body and an instrument set for inserting the marker for use in a living body capable of identifying a predetermined site in a living body easily and accurately.

There is provided an implant that is safe for the living body. An angular plate as the implant includes a bone supporting plate part and a blade part. The blade part is integrally formed with the bone supporting plate part, and extends from one end of the bone supporting plate part at a predetermined angle &#x3b1; (0&#xb0;&#x3c;&#x3b1;&#x3c;180&#xb0;) relative to the bone supporting plate part. The angular plate is formed from a titanium-tantalum-based alloy containing tin. The angular plate is preferably formed from a titanium-tantalum-based alloy containing tin in which a Young's modulus is decreased by increasing the reduction ratio thereof.

A balloon catheter including a connecting member, a catheter shaft, a balloon and a heat-generating member. The heat-generating member is in contact with a fluid in a distal portion of the catheter shaft. A radiofrequency electric current ablation catheter comprising a tip electrode, a means for detecting temperature of the tip electrode, a catheter shaft and a portion for operation at proximal end, wherein the tip electrode has a shape formed by connecting three or more spherical or approximately spherical surfaces having centers on the same straight line to each other with a curved surface. The catheter has the tip electrode which has a small diameter, is brought into excellent contact with organisms, can provide a great output power and is easily cooled with the circulating blood stream.

Ablation catheter

In a TDMA communication system in which a base station communicates with a plurality of subscriber stations, communication time slots used in a wireless communication are allocated/arranged while avoiding an occurrence of interference. In the case that interference () occurs in a communication time slot () of a line () through which the communication is made from a subscriber station () to a base station (), interference information is registered into an interference time slot database () of the base station (). When the communication time slots are reallocated and rearranged, a TDMA control unit of the base station () executes the communication time slot reallocation/rearrangement by referring to information registered in the interference time slot database (), so that the occurrence of interference is avoided.

In a radio communication system in which multiple access is carried out between a base station and a plurality of subscriber stations by a TDMA communication method, occurrence of the interference in the R channels through which the subscriber stations (to) issue a call request to the base station () can be detected precisely, and time slot arrangement of the R channels is changed by detecting the interference to thus avoid the interference.

A TDMA radio communication method including the steps of: providing a latter part of each of super frames with an assignment information notification period which is preceded by an assignment processing period, and providing a remaining part of the each of the super frame with an assignment request collecting period; transmitting, from a terminal station to a base station, assignment request information using a plurality of frames included in the assignment request collecting period; transmitting, from the base station to the terminal station, frame structure information and assignment information over a plurality of frames included in the assignment information notification period; and carrying out, in the base station, channel assignment of a radio channel, changes of the frame structure and of the channel assignment in response to timings of the super frames. This makes it possible to solve a problem involved in a conventional TDMA radio communication system in that it is difficult for the base station to achieve reassignment of channels to a plurality of terminal stations at the same time with considering the entire terminal stations connected to the base station because the conventional system carries out channel assignment, changes of the assignment and reassignment individually to the terminal stations.

A first sector cell is set as an object for measurement (S ). Reception levels in each time slot in the number of TDMA-TDD frames is measured for the object cell (S ) and for all the cells (S and S ). The results of the measurement of a specific sector cell are added to the results of the measurement of a sector cell opposite the specific sector cell, and time slots in which control channels can be placed are extracted for each sector cell (S to S ). TDMA-TDD frames are then allocated such that the control channels of each sector cell coincide with time slots in which control channels can be placed (S ). In this way, control channels are placed in time slots such that a base station having a sector cell structure avoids interference from the same frequency.

In a radio communication system repeatedly using the same frequency, each base station and terminal station have directional antennas respectively, and a base station has direction-determining patterns for setting a direction of an antenna according to a timing, the adjacent base stations each using the same frequency use different direction-determining. patterns from each other, and remote base stations repeatedly use the same direction-determining patterns. The direction-determining pattern has a correlation between a timing obtained by equally dividing a frame for a communication line by a number of direction-determining patterns and each antenna direction, and a communication slot is allocated based on a timing decided according to the table to a communication line with a terminal station positioned at a particular direction.

A balloon-tip catheter having a balloon formed from a polymeric material in the vicinity of the tip of a catheter, wherein the polymeric material forming the balloon comprises a polyolefin obtained by polymerization using a metallocene catalyst.

A balloon catheter used for intra-aortic balloon pumping (IABP). In the balloon catheter, an outer diameter of a catheter tube is not made constant in the axial direction. Rather, the outer diameter of the catheter tube from a hemostatic valve to a bifurcation, the portion which is positioned outside the patient's blood vessel, is made 3 to 30 percent larger than the outer diameter of the catheter tube from the balloon portion to the hemostatic valve, which is positioned inside the patient's blood vessel. The bifurcation has a first passage and a second passage. The first passage is communicating with a shuttle gas port and is disposed straight along the direction of the axial center of the catheter tube. In the balloon catheter, improvements in a channel resistance of a shuttle gas and in the response can be expected compared with the conventional balloon catheter, where the blood pressure measurement port (the second passage) was disposed straight along the direction of the axial center of the catheter tube and the outer diameter of the catheter tube was made constant in the axial direction.

An apparatus for assisting blood circulation includes an inflow tube which can be inserted into the right atrium from a peripheral blood vessel or which can be inserted into the left atrium from a peripheral blood vessel through the right atrium and the foramen ovale of the interarterial septum. An outflow tube is inserted into the aorta or into the carotid artery from a peripheral blood vessel to deliver the blood to the aorta or to the carotid artery. The outlet tube has an outlet for blood on the side of a upstream part of the tube and a blood pump which can take in the blood from the inflow tube and send out the blood to the outflow tube. When the former inflow tube is used, it also comprises an oxygen gas exchanger which exchanges carbon dioxide in the blood for oxygen. The apparatus can be very easily applied to the patient without thoracotomy to assist the circulation of blood. The function of the lung is assisted, the load on the heart is reduced and the blood flow volume of the coronary artery is increased. The circulation of blood in the whole body or in the brain is assisted.

Apparatus for assisting blood circulation

A temporary pacing catheter having an integrally attached temporary pacemaker function is disclosed. The pacemaker integrally built in this catheter for temporary pacing has a very small size and can be fixed to the body of a patient, and therefore, the patient can be transferred conveniently. Furthermore, if this catheter is packaged in the sterilized condition, problems or another's help required for the connection of the catheter to the pacemaker and the like operations in the conventional technique can be avoided, and therefore, the packaged catheter is suitably used for an emergency treatment. Moreover, if a balloon is attached and arranged so that when the balloon is inflated, the balloon envelopes an electrode at the distal end, the catheter can be caused to flow in the heart and blood vessel safely and promptly.
