Provided is a high mobility railroad vehicle system configured to reciprocally carry out a direct drive between a non-electrically driven section and an electrically driven section without installing new facilities such as oil supply equipment and without considering distinction between the non-electrically and electrically driven sections. A railroad vehicle system is provided with an overall control apparatus to respectively control an external electric power supply means, an internal electric power supply means, an electricity storage means, electric power conversion means and a motor driving means. The railroad vehicle system judges or previously notifies as to whether the present driving railroad section is the electrically driven section or non-electrically driven section in accordance with driving position information received from a position information generation means such as a ground facility on a railroad equipped outside of the vehicle and a global positioning system (GPS). The system cuts off from an external electric power source in the non-electrically driven section and carries out a smooth shifting control in order to connect to the external electric power source in the electrically driven section.

Driving system for railroad vehicle

The present invention provides a production method for biofuel based on a technology to convert carbon-dioxide as a carbon source through photosynthesis by photosynthetic microorganisms to biomass and produce biofuel of the biomass. The production method for biofuel of the present invention comprises a culturing process (S) of culturing in a culture solution photosynthetic microorganisms which store oils, fats and carbohydrates in cells of the photosynthetic microorganisms, an oil and fat conversion process (S) of converting the carbohydrates stored in the cells of the photosynthetic microorganisms cultured in the culture apparatus to oils and fats, an extraction process (S) of extracting the oils and fats out of the cells of the photosynthetic microorganisms, and a reforming process (S) to reform the extracted oils and fats.

A power converter of the present invention is connected between a direct current power source and controls power to a load by switching equipment. The converter is equipped with a first conductor for connecting a negative pole of the power converter and the switching equipment, and a second conductor for connecting a housing of the power converter and the negative pole of the power converter to the first conductor through a resistor.

Power converter

The invention provides a battery module including an output breaker that ensures safe and prompt installation of batteries in a system. The battery module includes one or more batteries and a case housing the batteries and having output terminals, each output terminal being connected to a positive or negative electrode of the housed battery, the battery module further including means for turning on and off the connection between the output terminal and the positive or negative electrode of the battery. The means for turning on and off the connection may include a contact subjected to making and breaking operations and a screw for making and breaking the contact, the screw having an insulator at an interface with the contact.

A controller for electric vehicles comprising a vector control inverter for controlling motors, which drive wheels of the electric vehicles, by dividing the primary current of the motors into an exciting current component and a torque current component, and controlling respective of the current components based on a respectively designated command, characterized in further comprising a dectector for detecting a wheel velocity (including a rotor frequency of the motor proportional to the wheel velocity), a detector for detecting slipping and skidding of the wheel based on a differential value (a changing rate with time) of the detected wheel velocity, a dectector for detecting re-adhesion of the wheel based on the differential value and a twice differential value of the detected wheel velocity, and an adjuster for adjusting the designated command for the torque current component in response to the detectors.

Controller for electric vehicles

An information transfer system in which an information transfer control arrangement including information transfer control and reference information storage is provided in a system having at least three subsystems communicating with each other using transfer information which contains an information unit common to all information handled by the subsystems. The information transfer control refers to information in the reference information storage, and rearranges the information arrangement from the transferer subsystem to an information arrangement suitable for the transferee subsystem, if necessary, followed by transferring it. The subsystem can be changed easily by adding, deleting or correcting the reference information in the reference information storage. The configuration of the transfer control system is therefore flexible.

Information transfer system

An elevator control system comprises a control unit for controlling at least one elevator in accordance with a first group of programs and a second group of programs to impart a plurality of functions to the elevator and a fault detection means for detecting any fault in the functions. The control unit functions to stop the control of the elevator by the control unit when a fault due to a program of the first group which is essential to the operation of the elevator occurs, and when a fault due to a program of the second group occurs, the control units functions to bypass the control by the fault program and continue the operation of the elevator by the other programs.

Elevator control system

An elevator control system for controlling a plurality of elevator cars arranged for parallel operation for servicing a plurality of floors of a building, in which means are provided so that, in response to origination of a new hall call in addition to hall calls originated and allotted already, a suitable elevator car for servicing this new hall call can be selected and the new hall can be allotted to the selected elevator car to be serviced by this elevator car. In the system, this new hall call is allotted preferentially to one of the elevator cars having an already instructed stopping floor within a predetermined floor range covering a plurality of backward and/or forward floors contiguous to the new hall call originating floor. In this elevator control system, the already instructed stopping floor is evaluated by employing a weight coefficient which is variable depending on the factor such as the position of the already instructed stopping floor either backward or forward relative to the new hall call originating floor, or the relative distance between such floor and the new hall call originating floor, so as to provide improved elevator service.

In an elevator system including a plurality of elevator cars adapted to serve a plurality of floors, an elevator service information apparatus which predicts the arrival order of the elevator cars arriving at a predetermined floor to give car awaiting passengers information about the arrival order. The arrival prediction may be made for the cars which will arrive at the predetermined floor in a predetermined range of the arrival sequence.

Elevator service information apparatus

The detection of traffic demand for elevator cars serving a plurality of floors is related. A device is provided for detecting the latest information on traffic demand based on the number of passengers actually boarding and alighting from cars (herein-after referred to as the 'boarding and alighting passengers'). On the basis of the respective floors at which cars are stopped to serve, the direction of travel of the cars, and the number of passengers boarding and alighting from the cars at the respective floors, the number of boarding and alighting passengers by direction is detected for each floor. The detected numbers for the respective floors are totaled to detect the traffic demand at each floor by direction. Further, the total is made for each traffic demand pattern to detect the traffic demand at each floor by traffic demand pattern and by direction. By taking the cumulative total of the totaled numbers of boarding and alighting passengers for all the floors by direction, the total number of boarding and alighting passengers is calculated. The results of these calculations are used to detect various types of information on traffic demand.

Elevator traffic demand detector

An elevator car group control system for controlling a plurality of elevator cars arranged for parallel operation for serving a plurality of service floor landings of a building, comprising means for selecting suitable ones of the cars for serving hall calls, and means for forecasting the length of time required for each of the selected cars to arrive at each of the allotted hall call originating floors and displaying the forecast waiting time on display means disposed at the landing of each of the floors. In the invention, the serving car selecting means comprises means for detecting for each car the number of floors subject to change in forecast waiting time displayed at each of the already allotted floors when a new hall is originated from one of the floors, and means for preferentially selecting the car detected to provide a smaller number of floors subject to such change than the others. That is, in response to the origination of a new hall call, the number of floors subject to change in already displayed forecast waiting time due to the allotment of the new hall call is detected for each of the cars, and the car providing a smaller number of floors subject to such change than the others is preferentially selected to respond to the new hall call.

Elevator car group control system

In an elevator system comprising a plurality of elevator cars serving a plurality of floors in response to hall calls and cage calls, an elevator control apparatus is provided which comprises a device for forecasting cage calls as a new type of traffic information expected to be registered as hall waiting passengers take a given car. The device includes means arranged on each hall for detecting the number of prospective passengers waiting on the particular hall and means for setting the ratios of the hall waiting passengers destined for respective floors. The detected number of hall waiting passengers is multiplied by the ratios of destination floors (hereinafter referred to as 'destination ratios') to figure out floors to which the hall waiting passengers joining the car are most likely to proceed, thus forecasting a corresponding cage call or calls. This cage call forecasting device is used in an elevator control system assigning hall calls, so that a cage call expected to be registered by the serving of a hall call is forecast at an early time. The waiting time required until each car reaches each floor, for example, is thus forecast with high accuracy taking into consideration cage calls expected to be registered in the future.

Elevator control apparatus

An elevator control system for controlling a plurality of elevator cars arranged for parallel operation for servicing a plurality of service floor landings of a building, in which means are provided so that, in response to origination of a new hall call in addition to hall calls originated and allotted already, a suitable car for servicing this new hall call can be selected and the new hall call can be allotted to the selected car to be serviced by the selected car. In the system, the change in the service condition of all the cars for the already allotted hall calls due to allotment of this new hall call thereto is taken into account in selecting the suitable car. For example, means are provided for computing for each car the forecast waiting time at each of the already allotted floors to be serviced thereby to detect the change in the forecast waiting time when this new hall call originating floor is serviced. The new hall call is allotted to the car which provides a forecast waiting time less than a predetermined limit, and this car services this specific floor.
