An edge connector (1) having metal latching devices (5) to latch and unlatch a circuit board (4) is disclosed. More particularly the latching devices (5) include a latching section (53) for latching the board (4) and an unlatching section (54) for releasing the board (4).

A plug connector assembly (1) includes a housing (2) adapted to receive multiple connectors (9) inserted therein carrying cables (8) with a cover (3) having mating halves (3a, 3b) which latch together onto the housing, locking the connectors in place. The housing includes a resilient arm (4) operable to latch the assembly to a mating connector. The cover (3) includes a further resilient arm (3b) operable to depress the housing resilient arm to disengage the assembly from the mated connector.

Daisy chain connector comprises a dielectric housing in which an electrical contact assembly is secured. Contact assembly comprises identical contact sub-assemblies, each contact sub-assembly including electrical contacts having contact sections in alignment with apertures in a front surface of the housing and terminating legs for electrical connection with signal conductors and ground conductors of electrical cables. Contacts include contact plates in engagement between contact sections and legs defining bifurcated pairs of legs for each contact so that the signal conductors of one of cables are respectively connected to one of legs and the signal conductors of the other of the cables are respectively connected to the other of legs and at least one of legs forms a ground bar to which ground conductors are connected.

Electrical connector for an electrical cable

A shielded electrical connector comprises a housing having contact sections of electrical contact members disposed in passages of the housing and exposed terminal sections extending outwardly and downwardly from a rear surface of the housing for electrical connection with signal paths of a printed circuit board. A shield plate extends along a row of terminal sections and has ground terminals electrically connected to ground tabs of contact members and ground terminals for electrical connection with ground paths of the printed circuit board.

An electrical connector for connecting electrode members of a chip carrier to circuit paths of a circuit board comprises a base housing having rows of aligned apertures extending through a bottom section of the housing. A contact assembly has electrical contacts which include spring contact portions for electrical engagement with respective electrode members of the chip carrier and inclined and aligned terminal portions in rows that are disposed in respective apertures for electrical connection with respective circuit paths of the circuit board and a depressing member on the base housing that depresses the electrode members of the chip carrier into wiping electrical contact with the contact portions.

Method of making a contact assembly

An electrical connector assembly for terminating flat shielded electrical cable comprises two matable connectors one comprising a housing carrying signal and ground contacts for connection to respective conductors of the cable, and the other comprising a housing carrying contacts for mating with the signal contacts of the one connector, the signal contacts being separated by shielding plates matable with the ground contacts of the one connector.
