A vehicle may include a vehicle body including a floor panel, a battery pack located below the floor panel and an energy absorption member located outwardly from the battery pack in a vehicle width direction and fixing the battery pack to the vehicle body. A support that protrudes downwardly may be disposed on a lower wall of the battery pack. The energy absorption member may include a protrusion that protrudes inwardly in the vehicle width direction toward the support. A tip end of the protrusion may include a contact surface being in contact with a side surface of the support in the vehicle width direction.

Vehicle

A secondary-control-system power supply line is provided to supply electricity from a secondary power supply apparatus to an electronic control apparatus. When a primary power supply voltage becomes equal to or lower than a primary power supply determination voltage, a power supply control section turns a step-down switching element on and off to thereby supply electricity from the secondary power supply apparatus to the electronic control apparatus. When a secondary power supply voltage becomes equal to or lower than a secondary power supply determination voltage, the power supply control section turns a secondary power supply relay off so as to stop the supply of electric power from the secondary power supply apparatus to a motor drive circuit, and continues the supply of electric power to the electronic control apparatus. Thus, resetting of a microcomputer of the electronic control apparatus, which would otherwise occur due to a drop in the power supply voltage, is prevented.

A mechanical safety breaker for disengaging a mechanical connection between two mechanical members at a time when a force transmitted through the connection of the two members exceeds a predetermined value is provided by employing an overload breaker element made of a ceramic. A ceramic breaker element provides a long time stabilized fracture performance particularly when the load applied thereto is of a repetitive nature.

Power steering system having a mechanical safety breaker

A double wishbone type suspension includes a wheel carrier, a lower control arm having one end swingably connected to the wheel carrier and the other end swingably connected to a vehicle body, a shock absorber having a shell and a piston rod projecting from the shell and disposed with the shell being above and the piston rod being below the shell and an upper control arm having one end swingably connected to the wheel carrier. The shell of the shock absorber is connected to the vehicle through an elastic mount and the piston rod is swingably connected to the lower control arm. The other end of the upper control arm is swingably connected to the shell.
