An imaging apparatus is equipped with an analog block, an imaging condition determination section, and an analog gain control section. Current consumption of the analog block changes in accordance with an analog gain, which is an amplification ratio of outputs of an imaging device. The imaging condition determination section determines imaging conditions, including the analog gain, in accordance with the brightness of an imaging object. Depending on a state of the imaging apparatus, the analog gain control section alters the analog gain determined by the imaging condition determination section so as to reduce the current consumption of the analog block. Thus, in this imaging apparatus, the current consumption of the analog block may be reduced by the performance of control that alters the analog gain in accordance with the state of the imaging apparatus. Thus, the state of the imaging apparatus may be regulated.

A digital still camera includes an amplification circuit, a timing generator, sample hold circuits, a differential amplifier, an analog/digital conversion circuit and a control unit. The generator generates a first-pulse signal and a second-pulse signal at different timings. A system and method for transcoding digital content (e.g. web content) by correctly employing one annotation for multiple digital contents. This can efficiently reduce the workloads required for the addition of annotation data during the transcoding process. A transcoding system comprises an annotation database system for storing annotation data to be used for the transcoding of contents, and a transcoder for transcoding the contents based on annotation data stored in the annotation database system. Upon receiving an inquiry from the transcoder, a correlation between elements in the contents and descriptions of the annotation data is checked to select one annotation that can be employed for transcoding the content. The correlation is specifically determined based on XPath information.

The arrangement and practice of the invention involves an overlap grouping part for extracting overlap information between objects in a presentation file and grouping the objects as a parent-child relationship; a graph dividing grouping part for grouping the objects as a sibling relationship by representing the objects as nodes of a graph and by recursively dividing the graph so that a predefined cost between the nodes is minimized; a distance information grouping part for further grouping the objects as a sibling relationship if distance information between the objects is below a threshold determined by a predefined computation from a distribution histogram of the distance information; and a link information extraction part for extracting arrow graphics that represents a link relationship and generating link information including the link relationship and a link label. The resulting structured data is output as meta-information.
