A film winding apparatus comprises a positioning device for a spool of a photographic film having a lateral rib formed on the external circumference of the core of the spool, around which a photographic film with a predetermined length is wound, and this apparatus consists of a driving shaft with a chuck to hold the spool, a stopping device with which the rib comes into contact to stop the rotation of the spool, a one way clutch attached to the driving shaft to prevent the shaft from rotation, and a motor for controlling a driving device connected with the driving shaft and a drive device for controlling the stopping device to stop the rotation of the spool at a predetermined position.

Film winding apparatus

An apparatus for conveying a tape material having different surface moduli on either side by nipping with a pair of rotatable rollers and a method of conveying the same is disclosed. The tape material having different surface moduli is conveyed by an apparatus having a pair of rollers having different surface moduli with each other, so that the roller in contact with the relatively higher elastic modulus side of said tape has a relatively higher surface elastic modulus, and the roller in contact with the relatively lower elastic modulus side of the tape has a relatively lower surface elastic modulus.

In the developing apparatus for producing an electrostatic latent image on a charge retaining member such as a drum, a rotating member for producing a shifting magnetic field is used to transport magnetic toner from a toner source to a developing area on the drum. The amount of toner so transported is regulated by the present invention by a magnetizable member positioned adjacent the rotating member in front of the developing area, the magnetizable member being characterized by a curved surface on which a shifting magnetic field is induced by the said rotating member and which attracts excess toner from the latter.

Developing apparatus

A heat roller type fixing apparatus for electrophotographic copying machine comprising a heat roller containing a heating element, a press roller which presses against and rotates with the heat roller, temperature sensing elements for detecting the surface temperature of the heat roller, and a control circuit which controls the conduction of the heating element in response to the output from the temperature sensing elements. The heating element having a heating characteristic such that, at the initial stage of heating, the surface of the heat roller exhibits a low temperature area at its longitudinally central portion and highest temperature areas on both sides of the low temperature area. The temperature sensing elements being set at positions almost midway between the low temperature area and the highest temperature areas of the heat roller surface.

Heat roller type fixing apparatus for electrophotographic copying machine

A heat roller type fixing apparatus having a heat roller accommodating a heating element and adapted for fixing a toner image to a copying paper, a temperature sensing element for sensing the temperature of the heat roller surface and a control circuit adapted to cooperate with the temperature sensing element in controlling the heat roller surface temperature. The heat roller and the heating element are so arranged, in the temperature rising period from the start of the power supply to the heating element till the heat roller surface is heated up to a set temperature, that the highest roller surface temperature is observed at portions of the heat roller between the center and both axial ends of the roller, and that the temperature sensing element is disposed on or in the close proximity of one of the portions of the highest roller surface temperature. The temperature sensing element is a thermocouple stretched along the portion of the heat roller of the highest temperature in the axial direction of the roller and slightly apart from the surface of the roller.
