A disk array device maintains data reliability with few performance degradation problems. In a RAID 4 or RAID 5 disk array device, redundant data created during disk degeneration with a device control module is transferred to a memory of a subsystem control module. The memory is backed up with a battery. The redundant data is held in memory until a writing operation to disk drives is completed. Then, when recovering after a momentary power supply interruption, the write data and parity data stored in the memory are written out without writing data from the disk drive. When recovering after a momentary power supply interruption and the disks are normal, the redundant same-group data is read from disk drives other than those on which the data that is to be written and the parity are stored and based on those and the write data, new redundant data is created and written to the object disk.

In one aspect of the invention, there is provided a molded article of crystalline thermoplastic resin with high gas barrier property of which the resin has crystalline and non-crystalline regions, the enhancing effect on gas barrier property of uniaxial-uniplanar orientation of the crystal axis direction of crystallites of said crystalline regions being used and the crystallites orientation being optimized by specific conditions. In another aspect of the invention, the molded article of the first aspect of the invention is further annealed to increase the crystallinity of the crystalline regions. The molded articles in accordance with the present invention have excellent gas barrier properties, and they are not only useful as chilled beef packaging materials, but also useful for retort food packaging, pouch packaging, coating and protecting materials for ham and sausages, processed fish, processed seafood products such as boiled fish paste, dried food for sprinkling, soup powder, parched rice cake, curry powder, spices, vegetables, fruits and pharmaceuticals.

A supporting assembly for a suspension to suspend the wheels of a vehicle is disclosed, in which a transverse member extends in a transverse direction of the vehicle body and a pair of tension rod brackets extend in a longitudinal direction of the body and affixed respectively at one end thereof to the opposite ends of the transverse member. The supporting assembly is elastically mounted under the body through insulators mounted in the pair of tension rod brackets. A pair of tension rods are affixed at one end thereof to the other ends of the tension rod brackets while at the other end to a pair of transverse links which are provided outward of said transverse member. The improvement is that a reinforcing member is provided with the end portions thereof connected to the pair of tension rod brackets and spaced from the transverse member.

A MacPherson strut front suspension is provided with an upper spring seat assembly which retains the upper end of a front coil spring and is rotatable together with the coil spring and a strut outer tube relative to a vehicle body. The upper spring seat assembly comprises concentric inner and outer tubular members, a spring seat rubber interconnecting the inner and outer tubular members, and a shallow dish-shaped abutment member which is attached to the inner tubular member to be rotatable together therewith and abuttingly engageable to limit upward movement of the outer tubular member relative to the inner tubular member.

MacPherson strut front suspension

A support assembly for an exhaust system of a motor vehicle is disclosed. This assembly comprises a U-shaped channel bracket adapted to be mounted on the body of the vehicle. A strip bracket is adapted to be fixed at one end portion to the exhaust system and inserted at its other end portion parallel to and between the opposite side walls of the U-shaped channel bracket so as to form two spaces between the other end portion of the strip bracket and each of the side walls of the U-shaped channel bracket. Two vibration absorbing members are inserted into the spaces, respectively, and firmly joined to the side walls of the U-shaped channel bracket and the other end portion of the strip bracket to prevent the transmission of vibration of the exhaust system to the vehicle body. There is a spacing between the other end portion of the strip bracket and the bottom of the U-shaped channel bracket thereby preventing the transmission of vertical vibrations from the strip bracket to the U-shaped channel bracket.

An exhaust system of an automotive vehicle, comprises a muffler having a front end face to which an exhaust pipe is connected, and a tail pipe connected at its one end to the front end face of the muffler, the other end of the tail pipe being opened rearward of a rear end face of the muffler, so that the tail pipe is rendered considerably long to effectively silencing exhaust noise even in a small-sized passenger car having a narrow rear overhang.
