An automatic performance apparatus for sequentially reading out performance data sequentially stored in a performance data memory to execute automatic performance, detects depression of a step forward key, and generates a tone for a predetermined time T.sub.3 on the basis of performance data in the performance data memory designated by an address pointer. When the step forward key is depressed again within the predetermined Time T.sub.3 from its first depression, the same performance data tone is continuously generated for the predetermined time T.sub.3 from the second depression timing of the step forward key. When the step forward key is continuously depressed for a predetermined time T.sub.2 or more from its first depression timing, the address pointer is stepped up upon each predetermined time T.sub.1 to generate a performance data tone sequentially designated by the address pointer. According to this automatic performance apparatus, automatic performance data can be rapidly edited by simple manipulation.

Automatic performance apparatus for musical instrument with improved

A performance apparatus for producing a mixed musical tone signal having a comparator and a modulator. The comparator detects key data corresponding to musical tones having the same pitch and the same or similar tone colors from key data of musical tones to be mixed. The modulator changes at least a tone element of the mixed musical tone signal on the basis of the key data detected by the comparator to produce tones having multiple-tone like tone colors. The modulator comprises a detuner for detuning pitches of some musical tones of a plurality of musical tones formed based on the key data detected by the comparator, or comprises a modulator for modulating an amplitude or a frequency of the musical tone signal formed and mixed bases on the key data detected by the comparator.

An automatic performance apparatus provides a memory capable of storing plural parts of a desirable tune, wherein each part can be independently recorded or reproduced, regardless of recording or reproduction of another part. While performance information of one part is recorded or reproduced after a first detector detects the designation of recording or reproducing of one part so that an automatic performance of one part is played, the automatic performance apparatus can reproduce another performance information of another part after a second detector detects a section end of one part so that another automatic performance of another part is played. An automatic accompaniment apparatus performs an automatic accompaniment having much variety with less storing amount of information (e.g., rhythm pattern data or pattern data). Based on the stored information, generation of tone or chord is controlled. In addition, tie expression or shifting operation is also controlled. In the shifting operation, some of constituent tones constituting the chord are sequentially generated in a shifting manner. The tie expression is applied to the constituent tones which are commonly used between preceding chord and present chord.

Automatic accompaniment apparatus

A musical-tone-generating-control apparatus including a number of musical-tone-signal-generating channels, each of which generates musical-tone signals having tone pitches designated by tone-pitch information and having tone colors determined by tone-color information. These tone-pitch information and tone-color information are supplied to a musical-tone-signal-generating channel selected by predetermined rules. One of the rules is that a newly entered key-code is assigned to a musical-tone-signal-generating channel which has been generating a musical-tone signal whose tone color is the same as that of the newly entered key-code. Thus tone-color-control parameters need not be transferred to the channel, and this saves time necessary for the transfer, resulting in a speeding up of processing. Other similar rules are also used resulting in similar advantages.
