An automatic door sensor includes: at least one sensor module unit (sensor module) configured to detect optically an object or a human body and to output, according to the detection results, a signal to a door controller for controlling an automatic door to open/close; an accommodation unit (profile) capable of accommodating the at least one sensor module unit; a cover member (front cover) that is transmissive to light for use for the detection performed by the sensor module unit and configured to cover the accommodation unit in which the sensor module unit is accommodated; and a functionality expansion module (LED module) either side of which can be joined to the cover member and that is configured to expand functionalities of the automatic door sensor by performing communication with the sensor module unit.

Automatic door sensor and functionality expansion module for use in the same

An optical axis adjuster is provided to change the optical axis direction of a transmitter unit having a transmitter element . A restriction member is latched in an external thread which is formed in the outer circumferential surface of the adjuster . The adjuster is held by a rotation/revolution support member and rotatable around its central axis O. The rotation/revolution support member is rotatable around a rotation axis extending perpendicularly to the central axis O. Stepped adjustment of the optical axis is effected by revolving the adjuster around the revolution axis such that the restriction member climbs over a thread ridge. Stepless adjustment of the optical axis is conducted by moving the adjuster in cooperation with its rotation around the central axis O, with the restriction member keeping a latched engagement with a thread groove.
