A spotter that includes a plurality of spotting heads, each of the plurality of spotting heads having a discharging portion at a tip portion, the plurality of spotting heads form an m&#xd7;n array (m, n&#x3e;1) with m spotting heads arranged lengthwise and n spotting heads arranged crosswise; and a pitch varying mechanism configured to vary an array pitch of the plurality of spotting heads arrayed in a lengthwise direction and an array pitch of the plurality of spotting heads arrayed in a crosswise direction.

In a dispensing apparatus for dispensing a liquid, such as a sample solution, on a substrate, such as a glass slide, the dispensing apparatus includes a capillary provided with a distal end and a proximal end, a pump unit configured to pump an operating liquid into the capillary and to pump the operating liquid out of the capillary, and a controller configured to control the pump unit so as to change a position of a liquid surface of the operating liquid in the capillary so that a predetermined volume of liquid is suctioned from the distal end into the capillary and the liquid suctioned in the capillary is discharged from the distal end. As a result, it is possible to precisely dispense extremely small volume amounts of liquids such as a nanoliter.

Dispensing apparatus and a dispensing method

Provided is a polymer electrolyte containing a block copolymer comprising one or more blocks having sulfonic acid groups and one or more blocks having substantially no sulfonic acid group, and at least one block among all blocks is a block having aromatic rings in the main chain thereof, and a method for producing the same. The polymer electrolyte is suitable for a proton conductive film of a fuel cell due to excellent water resistance and heat resistance, and high proton conductivity.

Fabrics, particularly cellulosic fabrics is resin finished with a combination of 1,3-dimethylglyoxalmonourein and trimethylolpropane, whereby the fabrics has improved crease resistance and shrink-proofing and generates no unpleasant odor.

Cellulose fiber materials are dyed with a dye represented by a free acid of the formula, ##STR1## wherein W.sub.1 and W.sub.2 are independently a direct linkage or a bridging group, Q.sub.1 and Q.sub.2 are independently a fiber-reactive group, A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 are independently a phenylene or naphthylene group unsubstituted or substituted, D is a residue of 1-amino-8-naphthol mono- or di-sulfonic acid, m and n are independently 0, 1 or 2, provided that they satisfy the formula, 0&lt;m+n.ltoreq.2, and each sulfo group appended to A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 is located at the carbon atom adjacent to the azo group, and then finished with a finishing agent capable of bonding with cellulose through a bridge formation, thereby obtaining dyed and finished products excellent in anticrease and shrinkproofing properties as well as various fastness properties such as light fastness, perspiration light fastness and chlorine fastness without any color change.
