The present invention provides a method for capturing specific cells (e.g. many types of cancer cells, including cancer cells not expressing EpCAM), and a method for analysis of specific cells involving the method. Included is a method for capturing specific cells present in blood or biological fluid, the method including: agglutinating blood cells in sampled blood or biological fluid; centrifuging the resulting blood or biological fluid; and then capturing specific cells therefrom onto a hydrophilic polymer layer.

The present invention provides a medical analysis device and a cell analysis method with which it is possible to count the number of cancer cells, culture the cancer cells, and determine the effect of drugs on the cancer cells. The present invention relates to a medical analysis device intended to capture cancer cells, the medical analysis device having multiple wells.

The present invention provides a method for capturing specific cells (e.g. many types of cancer cells, including cancer cells not expressing EpCAM) and a method for analysis of specific cells involving the method. Included is a method for capturing specific cells present in blood or biological fluid, the method including: subjecting sampled blood or biological fluid to enrichment; and capturing specific cells therefrom onto a hydrophilic polymer layer in a flow field.

The present invention provides a medical analysis device and a cell analysis method, which can capture many types of cancer cells, including cancer cells not expressing EpCAM. The present invention relates to a medical analysis device having a well portion, the well portion having a hydrophilic polymer layer formed at least partly on the inner surface thereof, the hydrophilic polymer layer having fibronectin adsorbed thereto.

Provided are a medical analysis device and a cell analysis method which can capture many cancer cells, including cancer cells not expressing EpCAM. The medical analysis device includes a flow channel zone, and also includes a chamber zone. The inner surface of the flow channel zone is at least partially provided with a layer of a hydrophilic polymer having a thickness of 2 to 200 nm.

Provided are methods for surface-modifying a thermoplastic resin which produce surfaces that show not only low adsorption of proteins and cells but also selective adsorption or adhesion of specific cells such as cancer cells, and further have excellent durability. A method for surface-modifying an object made of a thermoplastic resin, the method including: step 1 of forming polymerization initiation points on the surface of the object; and step 2 of radically polymerizing at least a hydrophilic monomer starting from the polymerization initiation points by irradiation with UV light having a wavelength of 300 to 400 nm to form a graft layer having a thickness of 2 to 100 nm on the surface of the object.

Surface modification method

A polymer comprising a constitutional unit represented by the following formula (1) is useful because when the polymer is applied to a surface of a cancer cell enrichment filter, adhesiveness of cancer cells to the filter surface can be improved so that an enrichment ratio of the cancer cells can be improved. In the formula (1), Ris a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, Ris a methyl group or an ethyl group and m is 1 to 3.
