To make it possible to easily use video data of raw data of a high frame rate input from a single-chip camera in a server system that is different from an AV server system in which an AV server itself is included. First AV clip data is obtained by performing a compression encoding process to raw data of a high frame rate input from a single-chip camera and is written in a storage. The raw data of the high frame rate is obtained by reading the first AV clip data from the storage and processing a compression decoding process on the first AV clip data, video data of a high frame rate is obtained by performing a demosaic process on the raw data, and second AV clip data is obtained by performing a compression encoding process on the video data and is written in the storage. The second AV clip data is read from the storage and transmitted to a second AV server system that is different from a first AV server system in which an AV server itself is included.

The aspect ratio of an original video signal is converted so that the image has roundness of 1 and has the maximum size fitting in the particular screen reproducing the recorded video signal. Then, a background signal of a size the same as the screen size or a size needed for video combination is generated, and the result is added around the video signal to generate any desired video signal size. In such a manner, the recorded image has the aspect ratio matching that of the reproduced image.

The present invention provides a television receiver which receives television signals to display images on a CRT display, and includes a JPEG decode unit () for decoding JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) compressed image data. The JPEG decode unit () detects image size of image data after decode processing stored in JPEG compressed image data from a memory card (). In case the image size is larger than image display area of a CRT display () and activity ratio of a memory unit () is larger than a limit value, the JPEG decode unit () sends the image size to a CPU (), and concurrently decodes the JPEG compressed image data in the memory unit () to generate the image data, and clips away half of the image data along the vertical direction and the horizontal direction. The image data process unit () enlarges or reduces the image data so that the image data is displayed on substantially the whole image display area without changing the aspect ratio of the image data based on enlargement/reduction ratio which is determined by the CPU () by comparing the image size with the image display area of the CRT display ().

An image recording apparatus consists of a control system including a CPU, an image input terminal, an image processing system, an image output terminal, and a user interface. An I/O controller is provided in each of the above units. During the power-on sequence of the apparatus, the CPU executes an interrupt test for checking whether interrupt processes of the CPU with respect to sync signals are performed correctly, and an I/O port operation test for confirming that an I/O port of each I/O controller functions correctly. A monitor control system comprises an interrupt processor for executing regular monitor processing by a periodic interrupt occurring at a predetermined time interval, and a background processor for executing background processing, wherein when interruption occurs, execution of the background processing by the background processor is interrupted while regular monitor processing is executed during a period in which background processing is interrupted. The time-consuming background processing is treated as a low-level processing task, and the regular monitor processing, as a high-level processing task. The low-level processing task is executed as a background processing during CPU idle time. Interruption of the background processing occurs ever 10-msec, during which the high-level processing task is executed. Accordingly, background processing and regular monitor processing are smoothly executed, and the CPU is thereby efficiently used.
