A recording apparatus includes a supply portion for supplying an airflow, a blowing port that is formed in a slit-like form following a width direction orthogonal to a conveying direction of a discharged medium, for blowing out the airflow supplied from the supply portion, the blowing port being formed with a channel, through which the airflow flows, extending in a direction substantially perpendicular to a conveyance region of the discharged medium, from an inlet side at which the airflow is introduced, to an outlet side, and a supporting member provided on the inlet side of the blowing port to support opposing wall faces of the blowing port, while allowing passage of the airflow. The blowing port has a narrow portion that partially narrows a width of the channel, father on the outlet side than the supporting member of the wall faces forming the channel.

Recording apparatus

A recording device includes a recording head, a conveyance portion that conveys a liquid-ejected medium so that the liquid-ejected medium passes through a position facing the recording head, a supply portion for air, and an air blowing mechanism that is disposed on an upstream side of the recording head in a relative moving direction between the recording head and the liquid-ejected medium, the air blowing mechanism including an air blow-out port for blowing out air from the supply portion toward a gap between the recording head and the liquid-ejected medium. The air blow-out port includes a plurality of slits that are lined up in a direction intersecting the relative moving direction, and the plurality of slits are lined up in the direction intersecting the relative moving direction so that long sides of the adjacent slits have regions facing each other in a direction orthogonal to the long sides.

Recording device

A discharge apparatus includes a discharge unit configured to discharge a liquid to a medium, a suction unit, and a supply unit configured to supply a gas to the suction unit. The suction unit includes an opening facing the medium, and a suction groove including an arc-shaped inner wall surface inside the opening and configured to suck mist around the medium. An outlet portion configured to blow out the gas supplied from the supply unit toward the inner wall surface is provided in the opening.

Discharge apparatus and suction unit

A printing apparatus includes a reading unit, having a detection surface, that reads an image on a print medium, and a fixing unit that fixes a relative position between the detection surface and the print medium in one of a first state, in which the detection surface is in contact with the print medium, and a second state, in which the detection surface is not in contact with the print medium. A control unit stops conveyance and fixes the relative position between the detection surface and the print medium to the first state, using the fixing unit, in a case in which the reading unit reads the image, and changes the relative position between the detection surface and the print medium from the first state to the second state, using the fixing unit, and resumes conveyance after image reading by the reading unit is complete.

A collection unit configured to collect ink mist generated due to a discharge of ink from a head configured to discharge the ink includes a filter for capturing the ink mist and a liquid supply portion configured to supply a liquid to the filter.

Inkjet apparatus and collection apparatus

According to an embodiment of the present invention, a printing apparatus that satisfactorily sucks and recovers a printhead is provided. A printing apparatus that includes a transfer member, and the first and second printheads has the following arrangement. The apparatus includes the first and second suction units which suck a plurality of nozzles of the first and second printheads, a common negative-pressure generation unit which generates a negative-pressure for suction by these suction units, and a moving unit which moves these suction units from one end to the other end of each printhead. Then, the moving unit moves the first and second suction units so as to pass through concave gaps with respect to ink discharge surfaces of the first and second printheads corresponding to the first and second suction units at different timings.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a cooling unit configured to actively cool a sheet, a humidification unit configured to increase a moisture content of the sheet by supplying a humidified gas onto the sheet, and an inkjet print head configured to perform printing on the sheet having a moisture content increased by the humidification unit.

Printing apparatus and printing method

First humidified gas is supplied from a first supply port to a sheet to be conveyed, thereby increasing the moisture content of the sheet. Simultaneously, second humidified gas is supplied to a space where nozzles of the inkjet recording head are exposed, from a second supply port provided at a position closer to the inkjet recording head than the first supply port, thereby increasing the atmosphere humidity of the space. The part of the sheet of which the moisture content has been increased is made to enter the space where the atmosphere humidity has been increased, and recording is performed by the inkjet recording head.

Prior to recording, the gap between ink nozzles and a sheet is set to a first gap and a humidified gas is supplied in a short time. After that, the gap is varied from the first gap to a second gap smaller than the first gap and recording is then started.

A humidification unit has a structure in which a first humidification chamber and a second humidification chamber are connected in series. Humidified gas produced in the humidification unit and having a high humidity is supplied to a space where nozzles of a recording head are exposed and produces a flow current.

Recording apparatus and humidification device

The present invention provides an ink jet printing apparatus capable of improving reliability of an electrical connecting portion between a carriage side and head cartridge side. When an ink tank is mounted on a head cartridge, a hook of a set lever is obstructed to be operated in a lock releasing direction by a restricting surface of the ink tank. This prevents the head cartridge from being removed from the carriage, and maintains an electrical connecting condition between the carriage and the head cartridge. Therefore, for removing the head cartridge, it is necessary to remove the ink tank.

Ink jet printing apparatus

A sheet feed tray is openably/closably (or foldably) attached to the main body of a recording apparatus, and a separator, which separates recorded media to be discharged above the sheet feed tray from unrecorded media loaded on the sheet feed tray, is provided so as to be displaceable relative to the sheet feed tray. When the sheet feed tray is pivoted a predetermined distance or more in the direction indicated by an arrow A, the separator is turned in the direction indicated by an arrow B and enters the inside of the sheet feed tray. With the arrangement, the interference between a separator and the main body of a recording apparatus is avoided, without causing a reduction in the permissible number of unrecorded media to be loaded and an increase of the size of the apparatus.
