There is provided a geospatial information creating system for extracting a footprint of a house from an aerial photograph, comprising a processor for executing a program, a memory for storing data required for executing the program, and a storage unit for storing the aerial photograph. The processor detects edges of an image based on a characteristic quantity of neighboring pixels in the aerial photograph stored in the storage unit; extracts an orientation of the house by analyzing directions of the detected edges; and generates a polygon of an outline of the house by using linear lines of the extracted orientation of the house.

The present invention provides a diesel fuel oil composition comprising a base fuel which contains normal paraffin compounds having a carbon number of 20 or more at 4.0 wt % or less, has a specific carbon number distribution in the high-boiling normal paraffin compounds, contains sulfur at 0.05 wt % or less, and is incorporated with 0.01 to 0.1 wt % of an FI and 0.002 to 0.1 wt % of lubricity improver.

An optically anisotropic pitch, which is suited for manufacturing particularly high compressive strength carbon fibers in a stable fashion, with satisfactory productivity and continuously, and also a method of manufacturing high compressive strength carbon fibers using the optically anisotropic pitch. The optically anisotropic pitch for manufacturing high compressive strength carbon fibers is composed of a benzene soluble component (BS) and a benzene insoluble component (BI) and has a Q value (i.e., weight-average molecular weight divided by number-average molecular weight) of 1.6 or below, a number-average molecular weight ratio of the benzene soluble component to the benzene insoluble component of 2.5 or below, an aromatic carbon fraction factor (fa) of 0.8 or below, a C/H atomic ratio of 1.85 or below and an optically anisotropic phase of 90% or more.

Optically anisotropic pitch for manufacturing high compressive strength

The pitch based carbon fiber has a uniform crystal structure in which substantially all crystal fibriles constituting the fiber have the thickness ranging from 30 to 200% of the average thickness Lav. Uniform stress distribution over uniform crystal fibriles can be obtained. This permits suppresion of non-linearity of the compressive modulus of elasticity of carbon fiber to greatly improve the compressive strength thereof. Typically, a compressive strength of 100 to 170 kg/mm.sup.2 can be obtained with a tensile modulus of elasticity of 50 ton/mm.sup.2. Such carbon fiber can be obtained by securing uniformity of molecular weight distribution of the liquid crystal pitch and also uniformity of the orientation of the liquid crystal constituent molecules by the application of multi-stage high shear spinning.

High compressive strength pitch based carbon fiber

The present invention relates to a high elongation, high strength pitch-type carbon fiber which has an improved handleability. The carbon fiber of this invention has a crystalline structure arranged in such a manner that the angle (.phi.) is 24.degree.-38.degree.; the stack height (L.sub.c) is 19-35 .ANG.; and, the interlayer spacing (d.sub.002) of the X-ray structural parameter is 3.45-3.50 .ANG.. The atomic ratio of oxygen to carbon on the surface of the fiber measured by X-ray photoelectron spectrometry is 0.1-0.35. The total oxygen content in the fiber is 0.01-0.2 wt. %; and, the elongation is 1.0% or more. The high elongation, high strength pitch-type carbon fiber prepared in accordance with the present invention can be used, for example, as a reinforcing fiber for light-weight structural material employed in the aerospace, automotive and architectural industries.

An image forming apparatus for forming an image for magnetic ink character recognition includes an image bearing member, a latent image forming device for forming on the image bearing member an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an image for magnetic ink character recognition and a developing device for developing the electrostatic latent image. The developing means includes a non-magnetic developer carrying member for carrying a one component magnetic developer to a developing zone, and a magnet disposed in the non-magnetic developer carrying member, the magnet forming a magnetic field of 600-1000 Gausses in the developing zone, a container for containing a one component magnetic developer to be supplied to the non-magnetic developer carrying member, wherein the developer contains magnetic toner containing not more than 50% by weight of a magnetic material and has a coercive force of 145-200 Oersted and a residual magnetization of 3.0-5.5 emu/g. A regulating member is provided for regulating a thickness of a layer of the one component developer on the developer carrying member so as to be smaller than a minimum clearance between the image bearing member and the developer carrying member in the developing zone.

A developing apparatus including a developer carrying member for carrying a developer, a magnet disposed in the developer carrying member, and an elastic regulating member contacting the developer carrying member to regulate a thickness of a layer of the developer formed on the developer carrying member. The developer carrying member has a roughened surface over a width thereof larger than a width of the portion of the elastic regulating member contacting the developer carrying member while the magnet forms a magnetic field in a marginal region of the roughened surface of the developer carrying member not contacting the elastic regulating member to remove magnetic developer.

A process for producing carbon fiber or graphite fiber is provided. The process comprises spinning a carbonaceous pitch, doubling spun pitch fiber bundles, adding a heat resistant doubling treatment oil, passing the fiber bundles continuously and linearly through an oxygen rich gas, infusibilizing at a temperature of 350.degree. C. or less, then carbonizing or graphitizing infusibilized fiber bundles.

Extremely high modulus carbon fibers can be produced by carbonization at a substantially lower temperature, for example, at about 2500.degree. C. This is made possible by selectively stabilizing only an outer surface layer portion of a carbonaceous pitch-based fiber comprised mainly of optically anisotropic components, while retaining the inner portion of the fiber in a non-stabilized state and without damage to the crystallinity thereof.

High modulus pitch-based carbon fiber and method for preparing same

A positively chargeable developer, comprising: positively chargeable toner particles, positively chargeable silicate fine powder having a positive triboelectric chargeability higher than that of the toner and a mean particle size of 3 microns or smaller, and a microdisperser having a triboelectric chargeability lower than that of the toner and a mean particle size which is larger than that of the silicate powder and smaller than that of the toner particles. The microdisperser has a function of disintegrating particularly the positively chargeable silicate fine powder and enhances the attachment thereof to the toner particles, whereby the developing characteristics including the triboelectric chargeability are stabilized from the initial stage of electrophotographic copying operation, and the storage stability is also improved.
