A collision avoidance apparatus includes an object information acquisition device for acquiring object information including a three-dimensional object and dividing lines, a steering input value acquisition device for acquiring a steering input value based on a driver's steering operation, and control unit for executing collision avoidance control when a collision condition is satisfied based on the object information. When the steering input value of a steering operation to the right is defined to be positive, the control unit is configured to perform one of: avoiding executing the collision avoidance control even when the collision condition is satisfied; and changing a threshold value used for the collision condition so that satisfaction of this condition becomes more difficult, in a case where a right side adjacent lane is present, this lane is a lane in the same direction, and the steering input value is a predetermined positive steering threshold value or more.

The acceleration sensor is configured to detect an acceleration of the vehicle. The electronic control unit is configured to predict a severity of a collision on the basis of at least the relative speed. Disclosed is a fuel injection control apparatus wherein the quantity of fuel supplied to an internal combustion engine is derived from engine operating parameters including a voltage signal which is generated by electromagnetic induction as a function of engine speed. A fuel injection quantity calculation circuit derives the fuel quantity in accordance with the detected operating parameters of the engine. A fuel injection controller provides injection of fuel in accordance with the calculated fuel quantity when the sensor voltage is valid and provides forced fuel injection regardless of the calculated fuel quantity when the sensor voltage is invalid and the engine starter is being operated.

In a fuel amount control apparatus arranged to determine the amount of fuel to be fed to respective cylinders so that the scattering in torque generation throughout the cylinders is suppressed, the amount of correction which is either added to or subtracted from a basic fuel amount, is computed such that a sum total of fuel amount correction factors substantially equals zero. To this end the sum total of the correction factors is first computed and is then checked whether an absolute value of the sum total is greater than a predetermined value. When greater, a given amount is either added to or subtracted from correction factors respectively provided for respective cylinders.

Apparatus and method for controlling amount of fuel injected into engine

Method and apparatus for controlling amount of fuel injected into engine

The engine speed is periodically detected at every predetermined crankshaft angles for obtaining a plurality of engine speed data whose number equals an integral multiple of the number of cylinders of an internal combustion engine. Either maximum or minimum values among the plurality of engine speed data is determined, and such operations are repeated for a duration covering all power strokes within all the cylinders, thereby obtaining a plurality of sets of engine speed data. Then the order of engine speed data giving the maximum or minimum value within each set is obtained, and majority decision is effected to determine which order of data gives the maximum or minimum most frequently throughout all the sets. The difference between the maximum and minimum values is obtained for each set, and the amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine is controlled so that the difference becomes common to all the cylinders. The fuel amount control may be effected by means of an actuator which controls the position of a spill ring of a distributor injection pump.

In a fuel injection system which electrically controls an amount of pressurized fuel supplied to an internal combustion engine, an electromagnetic valve which opens to inject the pressurized fuel is disposed at an upstream of a throttle valve in an intake pipe so that a group of cylinders of the engine is supplied with fuel therefrom. A pressure regulator is provided to regulate a pressure of the pressurized fuel in proportion to an intake pressure present at a downstream of the throttle valve.

An electric ignition advance system for internal combustion engines wherein an ignition timing to be advanced in accordance with a scheduled pattern is determined digitally. Advance pattern voltage generators generate voltage signals depending on engine operation parameters such as engine rotational speed or engine intake vacuum and hence the voltage signals represent scheduled advance pattern voltages. The voltage signal, i.e., the advance pattern voltages are combined and the resultant signal is converted into a frequency signal. The frequency signal is counted by a digital ignition timing determination circuit with respect to a reference ignition signal supplied from, e.g. a distributor. When the digital ignition timing determination circuit counts a predetermined number of the frequency signals, it provides an ignition signal.
