Two opening through which a refrigerant runs are connected by a first connecting pipe and a second connecting pipe. One end of the first connecting pipe is connected to a first opening by a planar seal. Another end of the first connecting pipe is connected to one end of a second connecting pipe by a shaft seal. Another end of the second connecting pipe is connected to a second opening by a planar seal. An axial direction of a shaft seal is perpendicular to a plane that includes the first opening.

Connection structure and inverter

A power converter includes a capacitor, a case, and a filler. The case houses the capacitor and includes a metal plate and a partition wall. The filler is interposed between the case and the capacitor. The metal plate is positioned between the capacitor and another electronic component, inside the power converter. Also, the partition wall separates the capacitor from the metal plate.

Power converter for electric vehicle

A switching frequency setting unit sets switching frequency of a switching element, based on both the temperature of a cooling medium which cools a DC-DC converter and the temperature of a switching element of the DC-DC converter. A switching controller controls the voltage conversion ratio of the DC-DC converter by controlling switching operation of the switching element at the set switching frequency.

Temperature controlled voltage conversion device

A PCU has an inside sealed by a case made of aluminum and a bottom plate. Interior space of the PCU accommodates an IPM, a control substrate, and a capacitor. The IPM is provided to abut an upper surface of the bottom plate. The control substrate is a rectangular plate having mounted thereon a control circuit including electronic components such as a gate driver, a transformer and the like, and is provided above the IPM. The capacitor is accommodated in a housing in a substantially parallelepiped form. A reflector made of aluminum of high thermal reflectivity and high thermal conductivity is provided on the entire lower surface of the capacitor.

An electrically powered vehicle includes: a boost converter that boosts a power supply voltage and outputs a boosted voltage; an inverter that receives the boosted voltage from the boost converter and controls a rotating electric machine for travel; and a control device that performs control to limit the boosted voltage when it is determined that the rotating electric machine is in a locked state and both an accelerator and a brake are not operated to be on.

A surge voltage generated by the switching operation of an IGBT element and voltage variation generated in an equivalent series resistance of a capacitor are superimposed on an input voltage of an inverter. The equivalent series resistance has a temperature dependence that a resistance value increases with a decrease in a capacitor temperature. The IGBT element has a temperature dependence that an element withstand voltage decreases with a decrease in an inverter temperature. When capacitor temperature is lower than a predetermined threshold value, a control device reduces an upper limit value of the input voltage by an amount corresponding to the voltage variation from its upper limit value at a high temperature, and controls a target voltage of a boost converter such that an output voltage does not exceed the upper limit value. Consequently, the allowable range of the surge voltage can be ensured.
