The organic EL display panel comprises: a substrate; an organic EL element comprising in order from the substrate, a first display electrode, an organic functional layer and a second display electrode; and an organic TFT for driving and controlling the organic EL element comprising in order from the substrate a gate electrode, a gate insulation film, source/drain electrodes, and an organic semiconductor layer. The organic EL display panel further comprises: a first bank having a first window section for demarcating a light emitting region on which the organic functional layer is provided on the first display electrode and a second window section demarcating a transistor region on which the organic semiconductor layer is provided between the source/drain electrodes; and a second bank located in the perimeter of the second window section and protruding in a direction that intersects with the main surface of the substrate.

Organic electroluminescent display panel and manufacturing method thereof

A production process for making an electronic circuit substrate comprising: a patterning step of forming a respectively anodically oxidizable conductor pattern and distribution pattern connected to the conductor pattern on a substrate; and an anodic oxidation step of generating an oxide film from the conductor pattern and the distribution pattern by contacting an electrolyte solution with the conductor pattern and the distribution pattern and carrying out anodic oxidation while applying current thereto, the patterns serving as anodes, wherein the width or film thickness of the distribution pattern is at least partially set so that an insulator portion is formed in the anodic oxidation step in which an oxide film formed on one of the side walls of the distribution pattern is integrated with an oxide film formed on the other side wall.

A three-dimensional image display device including at least one transmissive light-emitting display panel and a second light-emitting display panel located behind the transmissive panel. The transmissive panel has a plurality of light-emitting portions arranged in two dimensions and classified into plural linear groups. The transmissive panel has a plurality of bus lines each of which is connected to and overlapping with the light-emitting portions in per group. Each light-emitting portion includes a light-emitting layer made of an organic compound exhibiting electroluminescence. Each overlapped portion of the bus line has an area equal to or smaller than 5% of an area of each of the light-emitting portions.

Three-dimensional image display device

An image display device includes at least one transmissive display panel arranged at different depth positions in a direction normal to a display surface of the image display device. Each of the transmissive display panels includes a light-emitting layer that is sandwiched between a front side transmissive film and a rear side transmissive film. The rear side transmissive film has an interface with a maximum refractive index difference that causes an efficiency of light emitted from the light-emitting layer to become smaller than a front side light emission efficiency in the characteristics of light-emission efficiency, which changes with respect to a film thickness of the transmissive film due to optical interference.

A stereoscopic image display apparatus includes at least two linear image display devices which respectively display linear images in response to image signals. The two linear image display devices are periodically moved by a mechanical scan mechanism along a plurality of locus planes substantially parallel to each other. The mechanical scan mechanism may have a configuration which belt-drives the at least two linear image display devices fixed to a belt, or a configuration which rotationally drives the at least two linear image display devices provided on a disc. The stereoscopic image display apparatus can display a bright and extremely clear stereoscopic image without using a complicated optical system and a light transmissible display panel.

An electron-emitting device includes an electron source layer made of a metal, a metal alloy or a semiconductor, an insulating layer formed on the electron source layer and a metal thin film electrode formed on the insulating layer. Electrons are emitted upon application of an electric field between the electron source layer and the metal thin film electrode. The insulating layer has at least one island region which constitutes an electron-emitting section in which the film thickness of the insulating layer is gradually reduced. The electron-emitting device further includes a carbon region made of carbon or a carbon compound on at least one of a top, bottom and inside of the island region.

A display device has an emitting region constituted by a plurality of first electrodes provided on a substrate and extending in parallel, a plurality of second electrodes provided on the first electrodes and extending substantially perpendicularly to the first electrodes, and a plurality of emission sites for emitting electrons or light respectively connected to a plurality of intersections between the first and second electrodes and arranged on the substrate and has a peripheral region surrounding the emitting region on the substrate. In this display device, first and second groups of external repeating terminals for the first and second electrodes are collectively provided side by side in a part of the peripheral region.

Display device of flat panel structure with emission devices of matrix array

An image pickup device includes a pair of first and second substrate facing each other with a vacuum space interposed therebetween, and a plurality of electron-emitting devices provided over said first substrate and a photoconductive layer provided over said second substrate. Each electron-emitting device includes an insulating layer deposited over an electron source layer formed over an ohmic electrode; and a metal thin film electrode deposited over said insulating layer. The insulating layer and said metal thin film electrode have an island region of electron-emitting section in which their film thicknesses are gradually reduced toward said electron source layer.

Image pickup device including electron-emitting devices

A display device includes a backside and a front-side substrates facing each other with a vacuum space therebetween; and a plurality of electron emission sites provided on the backside substrate. Each electron emission sites includes a bottom electrode formed on a surface of the backside substrate proximate to the vacuum space, an insulator layer formed over the bottom electrode, and a top electrode formed on the insulator layer and arranged individually apart from each other and facing the vacuum space. The display device also includes a plurality of bus electrodes for electrically connecting the neighboring top electrodes; and insulating protective films each provided between the bus electrode and the insulator layer and between the bus electrode and the backside substrate.

Flat panel display device utilizing electron emission devices

An electron emission light-emitting device comprises an electron emission device and a fluorescent material layer formed on the thin-film metal. The electron emission device comprises an electron-supply layer made of semiconductor formed on an ohmic electrode; an insulator layer formed on the electron-supply layer; and a thin-film metal electrode formed on the insulator layer. The electron emission light-emitting device emits light when an electric field is applied between the electron-supply layer and the thin-film metal.
