A shoe press apparatus of a paper machine for pressing wet paper through a nip includes a counter roll, and a shoe module disposed adjacent to the counter roll. The shoe module includes a cylindrical blanket, and a press mechanism disposed inside the cylindrical blanket, extending in a width direction of the cylindrical blanket and individually pressing a plurality of pressed portions formed on the cylindrical blanket along a traveling direction of the wet paper, toward an outer-surface of the counter roll so that the wet paper is pressed in the nip between the cylindrical blanket and the counter roll so that a pressure can be applied efficiently in response to a density required for paper solely by the shoe press apparatus.

Shoe press apparatus of a paper machine and paper production method

In order to prevent the lowering of yield of fibers of stock which is pinched by two wires and being transferred, specific dewatering blades are disposed on each of the wires are used. Blade sets are disposed on two wires 1, 2 forming loops to pinch stock 7 and running therealong. The blades of one blade set are dewatering limiting blades 20, each having a plane portion 20a to support the wires 1, 2 and an inclined face 20b disposed on the wire entering side of said plane portion 20a and forming a space of a wedge shape facing the wire face and enlarging toward the upstream side in the wire running direction. The blades of the other blade set are dewatering blades 21, each having a plane portion 21a to support the wires 1, 2 and an edge 21b to scrape water toward the upstream side of said plane portion 21a. The plane portion 21a having the edge 21b is disposed opposite to the space of a wedge shape.

Paper machine twin-wire former with dewatering limiting blade device

A twin wire former of a paper machine can perform dewatering gently and symmetrically on the front and back sides of the wet paper, thereby producing paper with good yield and excellent front/back similarity. The twin wire former includes the loops of two wires, and first, second and third dewaterers, having large radii of curvature and disposed inside one and the other of the loops of the wires sequentially alternately between a point where a raw material jet alights on the wires and a couch roll, and the wire-run over this section is diagonal. The first and third dewaterers are disposed inside the loop of the wire and the second dewaterer is disposed inside the loop of the wire. This second dewaterer is pivotable about a point in the vicinity of its rear end, and the couch roll is a solid roll. This couch roll, a transfer suction box and the third dewaterer are mounted on a swing arm and can be pivoted for wire installation.

An improved multi-layer paper sheet forming system is disclosed, in which a degree of dispersion of fibers under the condition where a paper layer has been formed is large, thereby formation of a paper sheet is improved, moreover, bases of short wire cloth sections can be installed at the same level as a building floor and a complicated base of the shape of steps is not necessitated. The system comprises one endless felt loop and a plurality of short wire cloth sections disposed on the endless felt and provided with a dewatering instrument having, as dewatering elements, forming blades consisting of two zones, that is, a flat front half and a curved rear half. The short wire cloth section includes a forming roll having a large diameter and a breast roll having a small diameter, and the plurality of short wire cloth sections are disposed substantially at the same level. A movable return roll is equipped, which raises the felt between the adjacent short wire cloth sections so as to wrap around the short wire cloth so that an initial engagement point between the felt and the short wire cloth may come to an arbitrary position of the curved portion of the dewatering instrument existing at the upper portion of the short wire cloth section.

Multi-layer paper sheet forming system

Apparatus for forming multilayered paper includes an endless loop of felt and at least two short wire units provided beneath the loop of felt. Each short wire unit has a fixed dehydrator having a forming shoe, at least part of the upper surface of which is curved, and a short wire traveling over the curved part of the upper surface of the forming shoe. The endless loop of felt is engaged with the short wire on the curved upper surfaces of the forming shoes of the fixed dehydrators. Stock is ejected from a head box onto each short wire unit and is moved between the endless loop of felt and the short wire of the unit where the stock is dehydrated to thereby form a paper layer. Each of a forming roll and a couch roll guiding the felt into engagement with the short wire, and a felt roll disposed beneath the felt downstream of the short wire unit, can be moved vertically. By raising the felt with the felt roll and moving the forming and couch rolls vertically, the short wire and the endless loop of felt can be disengaged. Therefore, the short wires can be easily replaced.

Apparatus for use in making multilayered paper

A dewatering instrument of a twin-wire former allows the angles at which the wires are wrapped around the dewatering blades to be adjusted even during operation so that pulsating pressure applied to the paper stock may be set appropriately according to the prevailing paper making condition. The respective dewatering blades of the dewatering instrument are supported by two support bodies, the first one of which is fixed and pivotably supports the blade, and the second one of which is movable to pivot the blade about the first. For example, the second support body may be a flexible tube which is inflatable and deflatable. When the blade is pivoted, the attitude of the land of the blade is changed so that the wrap angles of the wires with respect to the land of the dewatering blade are adjusted.

A twin wire sheet-forming apparatus for a paper machine having at least two fixed hydroextractors which have separate places for drainage to the hydroextractor side from places for dispersion of fibers. These hydroextractors are arranged alternately in the two wire loops, and have shoe blades, with a wedge shaped trough in a mid-portion of each shoe blade. The wires do not bend at a front leading portion of each shoe, yet do bend at the mid-portion or back portion of each shoe for generating a pressure pulse to disperse the fibers.

In a twin-wire former in a paper machine, an operation of a hybrid former mode and that of a gap former mode are conducted, and papers of quality conforming to the kind of papers can be made in a wide range of basis weight with regard to multiple kinds of papers. In the twin-wire former, a forming roll, which guides a top wire so that it can approach to a bottom wire to pinch the stock of paper and run approximately horizontally, is made adjustable in an up and down direction. Upper surfaces of blades of a forming board and a forming shoe provided inside a loop of the bottom wire, are upwardly convex so that dewatering can be effected mainly downward.
