A material for electroluminescent devices which comprises a compound in which a heterocyclic group having nitrogen is bonded to carbazolyl group and an organic electroluminescent device having at least one organic thin film layer which is sandwiched between the cathode and the anode and contains the above material in at least one layer, are provided. The material can provide organic electroluminescent devices emitting bluish light with a high purity of color. The organic electroluminescence device uses the material.

Material for organic electroluminescent devices and organic electroluminescent devices made by using the same

Provided is an organic electroluminescence device having high luminous efficiency, high heat resistance and an extremely long lifetime. The organic electroluminescence device of the present invention includes an organic thin film layer composed of one or more layers containing at least a light emitting layer is interposed between a cathode and an anode. The light emitting layer includes a compound containing a condensed ring and a luminescent metal complex capable of emitting light having a red-based color. It is preferable that the compound containing a condensed ring includes a host material, while the luminescent metal complex capable of emitting light having a red-based color includes a phosphorescent dopant.

Organic electroluminescent device

An organic electroluminescence device including: an anode (), a cathode (), an emitting layer () including an organic compound, which is between the anode () and the cathode (), two or more layers arranged in a hole injection and transport region which is between the anode () and the emitting layer (), and one or more layers arranged in an electron injection and transport region which is between the emitting layer () and the cathode (), wherein a layer in the hole injection and transport region, which is in contact with the emitting layer (), includes an aromatic amine derivative having a carbazole skeleton, one of the layers other than the layer in contact with the emitting layer () in the hole injection and transport region includes one or more materials selected from the group consisting of thiophene derivatives, tricyclic or more cyclic fused aromatic derivatives, amine derivatives excluding the compound represented by the following formula (A), conductive polymers, CF, CuPc, transition metal oxides, fullerenes and acceptor materials, and a layer in the electron injection and transport region includes a benzimidazole derivative. 

Organic electroluminescence device

A novel nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative having a specific structure. An organic electroluminescence device comprises an organic thin-film layer which is disposed between a cathode and an anode and comprises one or more layers having a light emitting layer. At least one layer of the organic thin-film layer comprises the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative. The organic electroluminescence device exhibits a high luminance and a high luminous efficiency even at a low driving voltage.

Nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative and organic electroluminescent device using the same

Provided is an organic electroluminescent device in which an organic thin film layer comprising a single layer or plural layers comprising a phosphorescence light-emitting layer containing at least a host material and a phosphorescent organic metal complex is interposed between a cathode and an anode, wherein the total of the halogen element mass concentrations of bromine, iodine and chlorine which are contained as impurities in the host material constituting the light-emitting layer described above is 50 ppm or less. It has a high emission luminance, a high luminous efficiency and a long life.

In an organic electroluminescent element comprising an anode layer, an organic luminescent layer, an inorganic compound layer (or reductive dopant layer) and a cathode layer; the organic luminescent layer comprises an aromatic amine compound of a formula (1), and/or an aromatic amine compound of a formula (2) wherein A, B, and Arto Arare independently a Caromatic group which does not contain a styryl group nor an alkenyl group, at least one of A, Ar, Ar, or B, Arto Arcontains at least three condensed aromatic rings, and p, q and r of a condensation number are an integer of 1 to 6. The element has significantly long half-life and high luminance even at low driving voltages.

Organic electric-field light-emitting element

A material for organic electroluminescence devices comprising a compound in which a heterocyclic group having nitrogen is bonded to an arylcarbazolyl group or a carbazolylalkylene group and an organic electroluminescence device comprising an anode, a cathode and an organic thin film layer comprising at least one layer and disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein at least one layer in the organic thin film layer comprises the material for organic electroluminescence devices described above. The material can provide an organic electroluminescence device emitting bluish light with a high purity of color. The organic electroluminescence device uses the material.

Material for organic electroluminescence devices and organic electroluminescence device using the material

An organic electroluminescence device comprising a cathode, an anode and at least one layer comprising a phosphorescent light emitting material and a host material which is sandwiched between the cathode and the anode and further comprising an electron injecting layer which is adhered to the light emitting layer and is capable of transporting electrons, wherein an ionization potential of the host material is 5.9 eV or smaller, and wherein an energy gap of the electron transporting material in the electron injecting layer is smaller than that of the host material in the light emitting layer or wherein a triplet energy of the electron transporting material in the electron injecting layer is smaller than that of the host material in the light emitting layer. It emits phosphorescent light with enhanced efficiency because it comprises a light emitting layer and an electron injecting layer both satisfying specified condition and employs a light emitting layer capable of electron transporting.

A material for organic electroluminescence devices comprising a compound in which a heterocyclic group having nitrogen is bonded to an arylcarbazolyl group or a carbazolylalkylene group and an organic electroluminescence device comprising an anode, a cathode and an organic thin film layer comprising at least one layer and disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein at least one layer in the organic thin film layer comprises the material for organic electroluminescence devices described above. The material can provide an organic electro-luminescence device emitting bluish light with a high purity of color. The organic electroluminescence device uses the material.

Provided is an organic electroluminescence device, including: an anode; a cathode; and organic thin film layers provided between the anode and the cathode, in which: the organic thin film layers have a light emitting layer, and have a hole injecting layer and a hole transporting layer, or a hole injecting/transporting layer on a side which is closer to the anode than the light emitting layer is; the hole injecting layer or the hole injecting/transporting layer contains an aromatic amine derivative having a specific substituent, and the hole transporting layer or the hole injecting/transporting layer contains an aromatic amine derivative having a specific substituent.

A novel nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound having a specific structure and an organic electroluminescence device comprising an anode, a cathode and an organic thin film layer which comprises a single layer or a plurality of layers comprising at least a light emitting layer and is disposed between the anode and the cathode, wherein at least one layer in the organic thin film layer comprises the above nitrogen-containing heterocyclic derivative singly or as a component of a mixture. The organic electroluminescence device exhibits a great luminance of emitted light and a great efficiency of light emission even under application of a low voltage.

Nitrogenous heterocyclic derivative and organic electroluminescence device making use of the same

An organic electroluminescent device including in sequence an anode, a first emitting layer (), a carrier barrier layer (), a second emitting layer () and a cathode stacked; wherein the ionization potential of the carrier barrier layer () is more than the ionization potential of the first emitting layer () by 0.1 eV or more and the affinity level of the carrier barrier layer () is less than the affinity levels of the first emitting layer () and the second emitting layer () by 0.1 eV or more.
