A fuel pressure control apparatus for cylinder injection engine having a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into a cylinder of an engine, a pipe for conducting the fuel to the fuel injection valve, a fuel pump for supplying the fuel from a fuel supply system to the pipe, a fuel pressure regulator for regulating the fuel pressure within the pipe by discharging the fuel from the pipe to the fuel supply system, and a control unit for making feed-back control on the fuel pressure within the pipe by applying a control signal determined on the basis of an engine operation parameter to the fuel pressure regulator, wherein the fuel pressure regulator is controlled in a feed-forward manner by a predetermined control value so as to make better fuel pressure control at the time of start and when the fuel pressure transiently changes.

Fuel pressure control apparatus for cylinder injection engine

A fuel feeding apparatus for internal combustion engines, of the type having a heat-type air flow meter disposed in a bypass air passage detouring an air-intake passage, an air metering valve adapted to be actuated by a proportional type electromagnetic device to control the flow rate of air in the bypass air passage substantially at a constant level in response to the output signal from the heat-type air flow meter, and a fuel metering valve adapted to be actuated by the proportional type electromagnetic device simultaneously with the control of air flow rate by the air metering valve. A pulsation suppressing means is disposed in the bypass air passage to suppress the pulsation of air pressure in the latter thereby to decrease the measurement error in the heat-type air flow meter.

Fuel feeding apparatus for internal combustion engine

A control system employs a microcomputer, which controls the starting operation of a spark ignition type engine provided with a fuel injection system. The control system is loaded with, at least, contact information of an ignition switch for connecting an ignition device to a power supply and a starter switch for connecting a starter motor to the power supply, and an output signal of a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of cooling water of the engine. Where the cooling water temperature is not higher than a predetermined temperature, a fuel pump which supplies pressurized fuel to an injector of the fuel injection system is started simultaneously with the closure of the ignition switch, and this fuel pump is stopped during the operation of the starter motor.

System for controlling the starting operation of an internal combustion

An air flow rate measuring device has a by-pass passage branched from a main air passage leading to an engine, and heat wires provided in the by-pass passage. The inlet of the by-pass passage is positioned at the upper end of a venturi tube disposed in the main air passage, shaped annularly, and opened to the main air passage so that the air at the inlet can be subjected to the dynamic pressure of the main air stream. The outlet of the by-pass passage also is annularly formed and opened normally to the main air stream in the main air passage. The flow rate of air sucked into the engine is measured by the heat wires subjected to air flow taken in the by-pass passage.

Air flow rate measuring device

A carburetor comprises, in addition to an ordinary carburetor arrangement, a suction system for starting use including a starter throttle valve and fuel metering means which are both controllable for opening and closing and for metering function by a temperature-sensing control member or members. It further includes diaphragm means for placing a restriction on the starter throttle valve at the start of the engine to set the valve to a desired opening and for removing the restriction at the time of self-cranking of the engine.

Carburetor

A variable stage type carburetor having an intake passage, a throttle valve disposed in the intake passage, and a movable vane disposed at the upstream side of the throttle valve, the movable vane being adapted to cooperate with the wall of the intake passage in constituting a variable venturi and operatively connected to the throttle valve, so as to be moved in response to the movement of the throttle valve. The carburetor further has a first vane controller adapted for displacing the movable vane in the closing direction, independently of the throttle valve, when the venturi vacuum is lowered, and a second vane controller adapted to displace the movable vane in the closing direction, also independently of the throttle valve, when the force exerted by the intake air flow on the movable vane drops below a predetermined level.

Variable stage type carburetor

A variable stage type carburetor having a throttle valve and a movable venturi vane cooperative with the throttle valve. This carburetor further includes a negative pressure responsive device for forcedly shifting the venturi vane in a direction to be closed, irrespective of an opening of the throttle valve, when the negative pressure in the venturi portion is lowered to less than a given value, and an accelerator pump for additionally supplying fuel to an intake passage commensurate to the opening action of the throttle valve. The accelerator pump is effectively operated when the opening of the throttle valve remains at an angle no more than a given degree, while the negative pressure responsive device is effectively operated, when the opening of the throttle valve is at an angle no less than a given degree.

A gas mixture feed system provided therein with an exhaust gas recirculating passageway. The gas mixture feed system comprises: a throttle valve; a movable vane operationally associated with the throttle valve to regulate Venturi negative pressure; a variable stage type carburetor provided therein with a fuel metering device controlled by the movable vane; and an exhaust gas recirculating passageway for recirculating part of the exhaust gas of the internal combustion engine to the carburetor. The exhaust gas recirculating passageway has an opening within an intake passageway disposed between the movable vane of the carburetor and the throttle valve, whereby intake air and recirculating exhaust gas are uniformly mixed. Mounted in the exhaust gas recirculating passageway is a control valve which is mechanically connected to the movable vane so as to change the area of opening in accordance with the movement of the movable vane.
