For suppressing a deterioration of display quality due to a luminance defect, a display device, a method of correcting a luminance defect and a luminance defect corrector are provided. The display device includes a first substrate (SUB) having gate lines (GL), data lines (DL), pixel electrodes (PIT), and a common electrode (CIT) on a first glass substrate (GB), and a second substrate (SUB) having a plurality of optically transparent parts (CF) and a light shield part (BM) on a second glass substrate (GB). The first or second glass substrate (GB) or (GB) contains a dimmer () including a plurality of dimming regions () that reduce the transmission of light. The dimmer () is formed to be superimposed on a trapped foreign matter () in plan view. This reduces the transmission of light from the luminance defect to suppress a deterioration of display quality.

A dust collector is provided with a casing having an inlet into which gas is introduced; a discharge electrode to which voltage is applied, the discharge electrode being disposed inside the casing and having a spike called discharge spike and mounting frames for supporting the discharge spike; and a collecting electrode having a planar member, disposed inside the casing facing the discharge electrode, the mounting frames being inclined with relation to the gas flow at the inlet. A liquid crystal display device is provided that includes a pair of substrates which are arranged to face each other with a liquid crystal therebetween, and columnar spacers that are substantially equal in height formed on a liquid-crystal-side surface of one of the pair of substrates, where the columnar spacers include a first columnar spacer which is in contact with a liquid-crystal-side surface of the other substrate of the pair of substrates and a second columnar spacer which is not contact with the liquid-crystal-side surface of that other substrate.

The present invention restricts the fluctuation of a gap among individual display devices.
