A recording sheet finishing apparatus connected with an image forming apparatus, in which recording sheets delivered from the image forming apparatus are stapled and the stapled sheets are ejected. The apparatus includes a plurality of stackers each having at least one stapler. The apparatus further includes a control means in which the recording sheets delivered from the image forming apparatus are stapled alternately by the staplers for each set of recording sheets and after that, each of the stapled set of recording sheets are delivered from the stapler to a delivery sheet tray, where a conveyor belt which transports the stack is operated at two different speeds with an initial speed followed by a faster speed to prevent damage to the stack.

Recording sheet finishing apparatus

An image forming apparatus such as a copier or a printer for forming an image of a document on a recording paper. The image forming apparatus includes a paper feed tray for holding the recording paper; a conveyance unit for conveying the recording paper from the paper feed tray; a image forming section for forming a toner image of the document onto the recording paper; a fixing unit for fixing the toner image on the recording paper; a detector for detecting a paper jam between the units, and for generating a detection signal; a locking member with a solenoid for locking one of the units in another; a controller for controlling the locking member according to the detection signal so that both of the units are resisted from being removed separately when the paper jam occurs between the units.

Image forming apparatus provided with unit locking means

A sheet conveyance apparatus composed of a unit which is driven independently of an image forming part of the electrophotographic copying apparatus. The sheet conveyance apparatus is disposed between a sheet feed apparatus and the image-forming part having a photoreceptor on the electrographic copying apparatus. A loop is consistently maintained on the sheet as it is transported within the sheet conveyance apparatus which also includes registration rollers incorporated therein. After the loop is formed, the sheet is stopped at the registration rollers to correct skew. Then, the registration rollers convey the sheet to the image-forming part.

Sheet conveyance apparatus

A paper feeding device wherein a backing plate for carrying thereon papers is moved up and down by a lifting device, a rotating device rotates a rear regulating member mounted on the backing plate with respect to the backing plate while the crest of the rear regulating member makes contact with a cover of a paper container when the backing plate is lifted by the lifting device.

Recording paper feeding device with paper position regulating member

A recording apparatus includes an electrostatic image support and a fixing device. The toner image formed on the electrostatic image support is transferred onto a copy paper, and the copy paper is separated from the surface of the electrostatic image support and then fed to the fixing device to fuse the toner image, for example by heat. A device is provided for distinguishing the relation in the length between the distance (A) from the separating position at which the copy paper is separated from the electrostatic image support to the fixing position of the fixing device, and the length (B) of the copy paper in the transport direction. A control device controls the relative circumferential speeds of the electrostatic image support and the copy paper transport apparatus provided inside the fixing device as a function of the distinguished relation between said lengths (A) and (B).

Recording apparatus with speed control

A sheet feeder for feeding and separating individual sheets from a stack of sheets includes a sheet feeding member mounted for sheet feeding engagement with the stack of sheets and a peeling member for preventing double-feeding of sheets. The peeling member is arranged to be movable from an operative position to an inoperative position corresponding to an insertion of the stack of sheets so as to be brought into pressure contact with the sheet feeding member in a state of the insertion of the stack of sheets.

Sheet feeder

A sheet double feeding prevention member is moveable into contact with a transporting member. A swing member is provided for supporting the double feeding prevention member. A moveable fitting positions the swing member at an operative position for adjustment relative to the transporting member.

Sheet feeding means

An electrophotographic copying machine is placed upon a pedestal type supplementary paper feeding device which includes a base table supporting a paper containing bin having a pallet which rests upon a lift on the base table. The bin has a cut-out section through which the lift moves against the pallet for raising the stacked paper to a feeding mechanism at the top of the lift for supplying paper to the copying machine.

Paper feeding means for recording apparatus

An electrophotographic reproducing apparatus in which a reproducing apparatus body unit including an electrostatic latent image receptor such as a photosensitive member and other electrophotographic treating device is assembled in advance whereas an optical scanning unit including at least a document illumination lamp, a group of mirrors and a group of focusing lenses is assembled in advance in a predetermined positional relationship to the reproducing apparatus body unit, and both the units thus assembled are jointed at predetermined reference planes to each other and so integrated that they can be driven cooperatively with each other. Said two units further include jointing device at their respective predetermined reference planes.

Electrophotographic reproducing apparatus

A driving device for optical scanning unit of electrophotographic reproducing apparatus wherein a variable speed transmission of the driving mechanism of the optical scanning unit is installed on the outside of the drive mechanism mounting panel so that the desired speed ratio can be obtained by replacing the minimum amount of parts required.
