A method of producing abrasive fibers is disclosed, which comprises providing a conjugate fiber comprising at least one abrasive layer containing abrasive particles and at least one coating layer substantially covering the abrasive layer, and removing at least a part of the coating layer from the conjugate fiber with a solvent or a decomposer to expose at least a part of the abrasive layer from the coating layer.

Fur-like article having pile with difference in color or fineness

Pile articles, such as artificial furs, wherein at least a part of piles is colored in at least two kinds of colorations which vary in the length direction of the piles, said color variation being caused on level surfaces distant substantially constantly from a substrate fabric of said pile articles over a broad area of said pile articles, are produced by rotating a fibrous structure having piles fixed on a rotating body to raise the piles owing to centrifugal force caused by the rotation and contacting the raised piles with a treating liquid for fibers retained in a rotary container wherein a cylindrical interface of the treating liquid is formed due to the centrifugal force. The pile articles wherein the piles are uniformly gradationally colored in the length direction of the piles are also produced by gradually moving the above described level surface.

Pile articles and a method for producing the pile articles

An apparatus for producing pile articles having complicated and high color tone and structure, such as artificial furs, writing brushes, brushes, etc. comprises a rotating body to which a pile article is fixed and which is rotated together with the pile article whereby centrifugal force is applied to the piles, a rotary container wherein at least one treating liquid for the above described piles is retained and at least one inner interface of the treating liquid is formed owing to the centrifugal force caused by the rotation to contact the piles with the treating liquid, and a feeding portion from which the treating liquid is fed into the rotary container and a discharging portion from which the treating liquid is discharged.

Apparatus for treating pile articles

Conductive composite filaments in which a conductive component composed of a synthetic thermoplastic fiber-forming polymer containing conductive carbon black and a non-conductive component composed of a synthetic thermoplastic fiber-forming polymer which is same as or different from the former polymer are continuously bonded in the longitudinal direction and in the cross-section the segments of the above described conductive component are radially extended to at least two directions and the segments of the above described non-conductive component fill between the conductive segments.
