Methods and systems are provided for wavelength shift elimination during spectral inversion in optical networks. The method includes receiving an input optical signal, and generating a combined optical signal by combining, by Bragg scattering, the input optical signal having an input wavelength with a first pump signal having a first wavelength. The method further includes converting the combined optical signal into an output optical signal, by phase-conjugation, using a second pump signal having a second wavelength. The output optical signal has the same wavelength as the input optical signal.

Wavelength shift elimination during spectral inversion in optical networks

A transmission apparatus being one of a plurality of transmission apparatuses included in a ring network, including: a processor configured to: receive a specified message from a first transmission apparatus, the specified message being for setting loopback for at least one wavelength in a ring network, the specified message being transmitted when a failure of at least one optical signal having the at least one wavelength is detected in a specified link of the ring network, and set a loopback to a switch, the loopback being set for a specified wavelength of the at least one wavelength when a specified optical signal having the specified wavelength is terminated by the switch and converted to an electrical signal and when the specified optical signal having the specified wavelength is not terminated and not converted to an electrical signal by any apparatus from a second transmission apparatus to the specified link.

A transmission apparatus includes: a storage unit to store a table in which a wavelength terminated by each of transmission apparatuses is associated with each of the transmission apparatuses; a transmission unit to transmit a message including failure information to other transmission apparatus when a failure occurs; a switch controller to determine whether its own transmission apparatus is a last transmission apparatus that terminates the wavelength among transmission apparatuses that are present on a path up to a link where the failure, based on the table, when receiving the message from other transmission apparatus, and to perform a control of switching a transmission direction of a signal having the wavelength when the switch controller determines that its own transmission apparatus is the last transmission apparatus to terminate the wavelength; and a switch to switch a transmission direction of the signal for each wavelength under a control of the switch controller.

A method for facilitating remote downloading, in accordance with particular embodiments, includes receiving, at a proxy server maintained by a wireless service provider, a remote download request. The remote download request is relayed to the proxy server via at least one component of a wireless service provider's network. The remote download request includes an address associated with at least one file hosted by a remote server. The method also includes downloading the at least one file from the remote server to the proxy server. Upon detecting a presence of the endpoint, the method includes transferring the at least one file from the proxy server to the endpoint via a femto base station associated with the endpoint.

In accordance with particular embodiments, a method for adjusting power distribution includes establishing a connection between a base station and a plurality of remote transceivers. The method also includes establishing a plurality of wireless connections with a plurality of endpoints via one or more of the plurality of remote transceivers. Each signal quality indication is associated with a different one of a plurality of unique endpoint-remote transceiver pairs. A method for adjusting power distribution that includes establishing a connection between a base station and a plurality of remote transceivers. The method also includes establishing a plurality of wireless connections with a plurality of endpoints via one or more of the plurality of remote transceivers. The method further includes receiving a signal quality indication from each of the plurality of remote transceivers for any endpoint for which the remote transceiver is able to receive a wireless communication. The method additionally includes determining a power distribution for the plurality of remote transceivers based on the received signal quality indication from each of the remote transceivers. The method also includes transmitting a control signal to the plurality of remote transceivers. The control signal comprises the power distribution and is indicative of the amount of power each remote transceiver is to use for each endpoint when transmitting wireless communications.

According to particular embodiments, determining paths in a network with asymmetric switches includes receiving a graph representing the network. Each asymmetric switch has defined degree connectivity between one or more pairs of degrees of the asymmetric switch. The graph is transformed to yield a transformed graph that accounts for the asymmetric switches. A routing process is applied to the transformed graph to yield one or more paths through the network.

Systems and methods for multi-domain routing are provided. In some embodiments, a method for determining a path calculation from a source node to a destination node over a multi-domain network is provided. The method may include steps for receiving a predetermined sequence of domains for communicating information from the source node to the destination node, determining a link type for each of a plurality of links in the predetermined sequence of domains, modifying the link type of one or more of the plurality of links such that the plurality of links are unidirectional links towards a destination node, and determining a path along the predetermined sequence of domains based on the modified plurality of links.

The remote download request includes an address associated with at least one file hosted by a remote server. The method also includes downloading the at least one file from the remote server to the home media gateway. Systems and methods for determining multiple paths in a multi-domain network are provided. In some embodiments, a method for determining multiple paths in a network is provided. The method may include determining a first path between a source node and a destination node and determining a second path disjoint from the first path. In some embodiments, to determine the second path includes determining which ingress nodes are available in a domain that includes the destination node, where the available ingress nodes are not part of the first path, and implementing a disjoint path algorithm for each of the available ingress nodes. To determine the first path includes implementing forward path calculations.

A system is provided for electrical domain optical spectrum shaping. The system may include a laser, a modulator, a first electrical filter, and a second electrical filter. The laser may be configured to output an optical carrier signal. The modulator may be configured to modulate the optical carrier signal to output a modulated optical signal based on a first filtered input signal and a second filtered input signal received by the modulator. The first electrical filter may be configured to filter a first input signal to produce the first filtered input signal. The second electrical filter may be configured to filter a second input signal to produce the second filtered input signal.
