A schedule management system which can display a schedule on a screen and enables the user to enter schedule topics promptly and accurately without performing complicated operation is provided. An external voice is input through a microphone or a network control unit and is converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter and a coder. An identifier related to the digital signal is generated. The identifier is displayed on a schedule on a display unit. The digital signal is stored in a memory in relation to the identifier. A user specifies the displayed identifier through an operation section, whereby the digital signal related to the identifier is extracted from the memory by a CPU, the extracted digital signal is converted into an analog signal by a D/A converter, and the analog signal is output as a voice through a loudspeaker or the network control unit to the outside. Like a voice, an image can also be handled.

Information processing system which can handle voice or image data

A system having at least one information processing apparatus such as a word processor and a printing apparatus as a print server for printing print data which is given from the information processing apparatus using print programs. When the print data which the information processing apparatus itself has is printed by the printing apparatus, the information processing apparatus transfers a print program suitable to print the print data to the printing apparatus, so that the printing apparatus prints the print data by using the print program transferred. In the case where a plurality of data are stored in a memory apparatus in the print server, the data is outputted to the printing apparatus in accordance with a predetermined order. However, when the print server receives an output request of the data from the information processing apparatus from the information processing apparatus, in the case where there is no data which is being outputted to the printing apparatus or whose output is waited, the output requested data is supplied to the printing apparatus without being stored into the memory device.

Output control method and system of servers

A method for managing resources and an information processing system having three or more information processing units, with one unit functioning as a server and the other two or more units functioning as clients. A client unit can send a first resource, such as a document file, to the server unit for processing, such as printing the first resource. A second resource, such as character fonts, is generally required for processing the first resource if the server does not hold the second resource information. Together with the first resource, the client unit sends address information about the location of the second resource to the server unit. If the private character code is included in the character string, the server reads the private character font corresponding to the client which created the document file. Unfavorable change of a private character sent from a client to the server each time a new client is added to the system is avoided. Consequently, the document file may be processed, e.g. printed, by the server unit.
