Provided is an inputting device that is disposed in an opening of a cabinet surface. The device includes an elastic sheet having an outside surface disposed on an inside surface of the cabinet including the opening and across the opening. A sliding key is fixed on the outside surface of the elastic sheet with at least a portion in the opening of said cabinet surface. The device also includes sensors to detect movement, in a horizontal direction that is substantially parallel to said cabinet surface, of the sliding key. The device also includes guides being possible to be recognized optically that are disposed on designated positions on the elastic sheet, and the sensors detect the moved direction and the amount of the horizontal movement of the sliding key by reading the movements of said guides optically.

A cellular phone and a manufacturing method thereof capable of achieving attractive design as well as high operating efficiency in the assembly process. A cellular phone comprises a first housing, a second housing, a first circuit board, a second circuit board, a flexible cable to electrically connect the first and second circuit boards, and a hinge that rotates about a prescribed rotation axis. When the first and second housings are in their open positions resulting from the rotation of the hinge, one edge of the second housing is located vertically above one edge of the first housing. The hinge includes hinge semi-cylindrical portions that form a hollow part capable of accommodating the flexible cable. The first and second circuit boards are mounted on the first and second housings, respectively. The flexible cable is accommodated in the hollow part. One end of the flexible cable is threaded through an aperture formed at the one edge of the second housing. A protection cover is attached to the one edge of the second housing to cover over the aperture.

A crankshaft support structure for a multicylinder internal combustion engine employing a plurality of bearihng caps with pairs of vertical and horizontal surfaces fitting mating surfaces in the cylinder block for structurally mating the bearing caps to the cylinder block. A structural bridge extends across the bearing caps and is connected through the bearing caps to the block by one set of bolts and directly to the block by a second set of bolts. A second embodiment employs a third set of bolts connecting the bearing caps separately to the block. Arcuate baffle plates form the portion of the bridge between bearing caps to inhibit oil agitation and suppress noise.
