An object of the invention is to provide an inexpensive non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery that allows reversible charge and discharge to be carried out and can be used for a long period because of a stable non-aqueous electrolyte used therein. The invention provides a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery including a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material and capable of storing and releasing sodium, a negative electrode capable of storing and releasing sodium, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, and the positive electrode active material includes sodium, nickel, manganese, and a transition metal that can exist in a hexavalent state. An example of the transition metal that can exist in a hexavalent state may include tungsten (W). An example of the negative electrode may include a sodium metal capable of storing and releasing sodium ions.

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

A material (hereinafter referred to as 'positive electrode material') including sodium manganate powder as a positive electrode active material, carbon black powder as a conductive agent, and polytetrafluoroethylene as a binder is prepared. The positive electrode material is mixed in an N-methylpyrrolidone solution to produce slurry as a positive electrode mixture. A working electrode is produced by applying the slurry on a positive electrode collector. A negative electrode containing tin or germanium is produced. The non-aqueous electrolyte is produced by adding sodium hexafluorophosphate as an electrolyte salt in a non-aqueous solvent produced by mixing ethylenecarbonate and diethyl carbonate.

Positive electrode and non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

A non-aqueous battery with improved volume energy density and enhanced load characteristics is made available even when using olivine-type lithium phosphate as a positive electrode active material. The non-aqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention is provided with a positive electrode () containing lithium iron phosphate as a positive electrode active material, a negative electrode (), and a non-aqueous electrolyte (). In the positive electrode (), a positive electrode active material-containing layer that is made of the positive electrode active material, a conductive agent, and a binder agent is formed on a positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode current collector has a thickness of less than 20 &#x3bc;m and its surface that is in contact with the positive electrode active material-containing layer has a mean surface roughness Ra of greater than 0.026.

Non-aqueous electrolyte battery

Using a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery containing lithium iron phosphate as a positive electrode active material and graphite as a negative electrode active material, a low-cost, high energy density battery is provided that exhibits good performance at high rate current and good cycle performance even at high temperature. The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery has a positive electrode having a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode active material-containing layer formed on a surface of the positive electrode current collector, the positive electrode active material-containing layer containing a conductive agent and a positive electrode active material including lithium iron phosphate, a negative electrode containing a carbon material, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The non-aqueous electrolyte contains vinylene carbonate.

As a positive electrode active material, a lithium transition metal complex oxide having a layered rock-salt structure containing lithium (Li) and containing magnesium atoms (Mg) substituted for part of lithium atoms (Li) is used. The lithium transition metal complex oxide is formed by chemical or electrochemical substitution of Mg atoms for part of Li atoms in LiCoO, LiMnO, LiFeO, LiNiO, or the like. A cell is prepared in which a negative electrodeand a positive electrodeincluding the lithium transition metal complex oxide (positive electrode active material) are disposed in a non-aqueous electrolyteincluding a lithium salt, and part of Li in the lithium transition metal complex oxide is extracted by discharging the cell. Then, the electrolyte including Li is replaced with an electrolyte including Mg, and the cell is discharged, so that Mg atoms are substituted for the part of Li atoms in the lithium transition metal complex oxide.

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, positive electrode active material and method of manufacturing the same

The positive electrode active material of a positive electrode includes a sodium-containing transition metal oxide (NaLiMO). The M includes at least two of manganese (Mn), iron (Fe), cobalt (Co), and nickel (Ni). For a negative electrode, a sodium metal or a metal that forms an alloy with sodium is used. A non-aqueous electrolyte produced by dissolving an electrolytic salt (sodium salt) in a non-aqueous solvent is used. Examples of the non-aqueous solvent may include a cyclic carbonate, a chain carbonate, esters, cyclic ethers, chain ethers, nitrites, amides and a combination thereof.

Sodium ion secondary battery

A nonaqueous electrolyte battery which comprises a positive electrode including carbon fluoride or sulfur as an active material, a negative electrode including calcium as an active material, and an electrolyte including an imide salt of calcium or a sulfonic acid salt of calcium.

Nonaqueous electrolyte battery

Nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery

In a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided with a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte solution, a positive electrode active material is a mixture of lithium-manganese composite oxide and at least one of lithium-nickel composite oxide represented by a general formula LiNiM1Oand lithium-cobalt composite oxide represented by the general formula LiCoM2O, and said non-aqueous electrolyte solution contains at least a saturated cyclic carbonic acid ester and an unsaturated cyclic carbonic acid ester having double bond of carbon where content by amount of said unsaturated cyclic carbonic acid ester having double bond of carbon is in a range of 1.0&#xd7;10to 2.4&#xd7;10g per positive electrode capacity 1 mAh.

An audio data dubbing system includes a reproduction side device and a recording side device. The reproduction side device reproduces intermittently from a reproduction side disc compressed audio data on the basis of a predetermined reproducing unit, which is first stored in a reproduction side memory and read out continuously therefrom to be provided as compressed audio data for recording. Audio data recording/reproduction device having digital high speed

A disc recorder containing a compressed data memory for storing compressed audio data to be recorded to a disc or reproduced from a disc. When a reduction pause state is set during reproduction operation, reading out of data from a compressed data memory is limited. Therefore, discontinuity of reproduced audio at the time of pause cancellation is prevented. When a recording pause state is set during recording operation, the compressed data memory is made empty. Therefore, discontinuity of the recording audio is also prevented at the time of pause cancellation.
