The pushbutton tuner includes a connection member which connects a memory slide plate for transverse displacement in response to tuning operation to a change lever responsive to the memory slide plate to actuate a tuning circuit element. The connection member particularly consists of first step for engagement with the memory slide plate, second step for engagement with the change lever, and a flat portion connecting the both steps.

In a pointer sliding mechanism intended for use in a pushbutton tuner, there is fixed on the base plate of the tuner a pair of pivots, right and left, on which right and left links are pivotably mounted at the front ends thereof; a pointer mount-plate is pivotably mounted to the right and left links at the rear ends thereof so as to couple these links together. On the other hand, there is provided on the base plate of the pushbutton tuner a memory slide which is movable in the direction of the width of the tuner, and a V-shaped link is mounted between the memory slide and one of the links supporting the pointer mount-plate, which V-shaped link is freely openable and closable; the arm of this V-shaped link on the side of the memory slide is pivotably mounted at the central portion thereof to a pivot fixed to the base plate.

A cross arm mechanism in a pushbutton tuner in which a setting plate is pivotally mounted on a cross arm and a plate spring is also disposed on the cross arm so as to hold the setting plate from both sides. The plate spring is movable together with the pushbutton in the length direction of the cross arm upon advancement of the pushbutton. The cross arm has at the front end protuberances for tightening the setting plate by narrowing the width of the opened end of the setting plate upon advancement of the plate spring.

A pushbutton tuner arm mechanism features a lockable setting plate rotatably mounted on an arm reciprocatingly actuated by a pushbutton, the setting plate having an extension configured to engage a V-shaped tuning notch in a memory slide. A locking spring affixed to the arm peripherally engages portions of the setting plate to hold the arm in a chosen position, the locking force being releasable upon extraction of the pushbutton. An arcuate boss integral with the setting plate is configured to engage portions of a generally V-shaped cut in the arm to provide positive play-free locking of the setting arm in position.

A pushbutton-operated waveband or station selector which comprises a tuning axis having a tuning knob and rotatably-mounted on a tuning axis mounting plate, an idler plate driving gear rotatably mounted on the plate, an idler roller or gear disposed between the tuning axis and the idler plate driving gear for transmitting rotation of the tuning axis to the idler plate driving gear; the idler roller or gear is rotatably mounted on a clutch lever operatively coupled on a kick arm and the idler plate driving gear is in meshing engagement with a rack gear of an idler plate operatively coupled on a core slide.

A pushbutton-operated waveband or station selector which comprises a three-armed link with three arms pivotally disposed on a frame of the station selector by means of a pivotal shaft; the first and third arm at the opposite ends of the three-armed link being formed with guide portions for being slidably coupled with guide portions formed in a first and third members for movement to different directions and extending perpendicularly to the moving directions, the second arm at the center of the three-armed link being formed with a guide portion for being slidably coupled with a second member for movement to a different direction from those of the first and third members and extending perpendicularly of the moving direction of the second member.

In a pushbutton tuner wherein cross arms are mounted with their flat surface parallel with the surface of the tuner base, a cross arm mechanism includes a pivotally supporting portion of a frequency setting member inserted in an engaging hole of a fixing plate mounted along the cross arm, a slit which is formed in the fixing plate so as to open at one end of the same to be inserted in the pushbutton extends to a hole formed in the same by passing through the engaging hole, and a pair of side faces for receiving a force which narrows the slit are formed at both sides of the end of the fixing plate where the slit opens, so that contacting portions formed on a slide member slidable in response to advance of the pushbutton come to stress the side faces.

In a cross arm mechanism in a pushbutton tuner including a setting plate pivotally coupled to a setting pin provided on a cross arm and a plate spring so mounted as to surround the setting plate whereby fixing the setting plate to the cross arm when a pushbutton is mounted on the cross arm, an improvement which comprises a sectorial protuberance formed on one surface of the setting plate, a guide hole in a symmetrical V-like configuration formed in the cross arm for receiving the sectorial protuberance, a suppressing means for suppressing the sectorial protuberance toward the narrowed portion of said V-like guide hole.

A pushbutton tuner wherein tuning coils are disposed in two decks, upper and lower, and the upper or lower tuning coils are disposed in front of the others. A printed circuit board to be connected to said tuning coils by lead wires is divided in two parts and each part is disposed close to the tuning coils in the associated deck.
