There are provided a radical polymerizing composition giving a cured resin having excellent elasticity which comprises a mixture of two or more kinds of monomethacrylic acid esters having specific structure at specific mixing ratio and organic peroxide, and more particularly an anaerobic liquid gasket having excellent sealing properties, pressure resistance and good storage stability which comprises these polymerizing composition, filler, anaerobic curing accelerator and stabilizer.

There is provided a novel acrylic two-part adhesive suitable for structural uses composed of a liquid I comprising an acrylic monomer and an organic peroxide and a liquid II comprising an acrylic monomer and a curing accelerator. At least one of the liquid I and II further contains a diene-elastomer, and the liquid I or both the liquids further contain an ion-containing unsaturated polyester. The unsaturated polyester is further characterized in that it has one or more polymerizable or copolymerizable double bonds and its remaining carboxylic group is neutralized with a metal compound, ammonia or an amine.

Anaerobic curing adhesive compositions

By adding 0.001 to 0.1% by weight of a polyphosphoric acid to a one-part type anaerobic adhesive obtained by adding an organic peroxide, a hardening accelerator to an ordinary anaerobically polymerizable monomer, the adhesive property such as breakaway-torque on adhering screw portions, impact and shearing strength on adhering flat parts of metals and the preservative stability are greatly improved.

There is provided a novel anaerobically curable composition which is less irritant, strongly adhesive to metal materials without primers and also storable for a long time without significant deterioration. The composition comprises per 100 parts of a polymerizable methacrylate, 0.1 to 5.0 parts of the salt of o-benzoic sulfimide and a specified aromatic amine, 0.1 to 5.0 parts of an acid amide, and 0 to 3.0 parts of a gelling stabilizer.

Anaerobically curable compositions

A novel anaerobically curable resin composition of one-part type is provided. The composition consists essentially of the following components (a), (b) and (c) in the specified amounts; the component (a) being a mixture of polymerizable components consisting of (i) an addition-reaction product of a polybutadiene-based liquid rubber, a polyisocyanate and a hydroxyl group-containing methacrylate, and (ii) a polymerizable methacrylate; the component (b) being a salt of o-benzoic sulfimide with a specified amine; and the component (c) being an ammonium or amine salt of an aminopolycarboxylic acid. The process for preparation of the composition comprises the step of adding the specified amounts of the aminopolycarboxylic acid or an alkali metal salt thereof and an ammonia water or a volatile organic amine to the component (a), the step of stirring and heating the mixture to remove volatile matters partly until the pH is decreased to 9 or lower, and the step of adding thereto the component (b).

Anaerobically curable composition and process for preparation thereof

There is provided a one-part structural adhesive composition having satisfactory adhesive to plane surfaces and oily surface-adhesion properties. The adhesive composition comprises substantial amounts of a hydroxyl-containing polymerizable methacrylate represented by a certain general formula and a polymerizable methacrylate having 2 or more methacrylic groups as well as small amounts of a polymerizable organic phosphate represented by a certain general formula, tetrahydroquinoline salt of o-benzoic sulfimide, an organic hydroperoxide and water; the amounts of the above-mentioned components in the composition being within defined ranges.

Adhesive compositions

An adhesive composition which can be applied to various metals and be polymerized and cured upon exclusion from contact with air is disclosed, said composition comprising (1) an anaerobic mixture consisting of a compound represented by the formula ##EQU1## a solvent compound having in the molecule an acrylic or methacrylic group, (2) a small amount of benzosulfimide, (3) tetrahydroquinoline and (4) an organic peroxide.
