A sharing system includes a sharing device arranged in a shared subject and a valet key that is allowed to operate the shared subject. The sharing system further includes a portable terminal that obtains key information required to use the shared subject and is allowed to operate the shared subject when the key information is authenticated through communication with the sharing device. A lock device includes a locking member, a movable member, and a transmission mechanism. The locking member is moved between a lock position at which it locks a locking subject and an unlock position at which it unlocks the locking subject. The transmission mechanism transmits a drive force to the movable member and moves the movable member. A movement state of the movable member is shifted between a relative movement state in which it is moved relative to the locking member and an integral movement state in which it is moved together with the locking member to move the locking member toward the lock or unlock position. The lock device further includes a detector of which an output value varies in accordance with movement of the movable member or the transmission mechanism, and a controller that performs a failure determination based on a change in the output value.

The car share device includes a key function unit configured to verify an electronic key ID used by an electronic key system of the vehicle. The car sharing system further includes a key function invalidating unit that invalidates the key function unit when a condition is satisfied for switching the key function unit from a valid state to an invalid state.

A steering lock device includes a position detector that detects a position of a lock member. The position detector includes a first unlock detecting portion of a digital output type that detects that the lock member is located in an unlock position and a second unlock detecting portion of an analog output type that detects that the lock member is located in an intermediate position, which is between a lock position and the unlock position. A position determination portion determines whether or not the lock member is located in the unlock position based on a detection signal of the first unlock detecting portion and a detection signal of the second unlock detecting portion, which has a parabolic output waveform that changes in accordance with movement of the lock member.
