An electric power converting apparatus mainly includes a first power supply circuit, a second power supply circuit, a selection circuit, a control circuit, a bi-directional inverter circuit, and a charge/discharge circuit. A vehicle energy-management device is used for a vehicle that is equipped with a plurality of vehicle apparatuses driven by different energy sources. The vehicle energy-management device includes a travel route calculator that calculates a travel route of the vehicle, a travel route divider that divides the travel route into a plurality of sections, a control plan preparing unit that prepares, for each of the plurality of sections, a control plan for the plurality of vehicle apparatuses, and a vehicle apparatus controller that controls the plurality of vehicle apparatuses according to the control plan. The travel route divider determines a length of each of the sections such that a resolution is higher for a section closer to the vehicle and divides the travel route.

A charge/discharge system is mounted on an electric vehicle using a motor as a driving source, which is driven by electric power charged in a battery, and controls at least one of charge from the outside of the vehicle to the battery and discharge from the battery to the outside of the vehicle. Electric motor vehicle management system

An on-board power line communication system that performs power line communication during charging and discharging of a battery prevents electromagnetic wave leakage from a power line from interfering with other on-board devices. A vehicle includes a PLC communication device that performs PLC communication using a charging cable that is connected to a battery, and an interference suppressor that prevents electromagnetic wave leakage from the charging cable, which accompanies PLC communication, from interfering with the operations of an on-board electronic device. The interference suppressor reduces electromagnetic wave leakage from the charging cable by reducing the output frequency of the PLC communication device or the value of current flowing through the charging cable while the on-board electronic device is performing a specific operation that will be affected by interference from PLC communication.

On-board power line communication system

In a charging communication system in which a charging control device performs communication between an electric vehicle and a charging equipment, the electric vehicle is equipped with a first communication device and a second communication device both configured to communicate with the charging equipment by using the same signal line in the charging cable; and a signal line connection device configured to switch connection/disconnection between the second communication device and the signal line. The charging control device, which controls a battery on the electric vehicle, calculates an amount of change in a signal line voltage between before and after the signal line connection device connects the second communication device to the signal line, and the charging control device causes, when the amount of change does not fall within a predetermined allowable range, the signal line connection device to disconnect the second communication device from the signal line.

Charging communication system and charging equipment

A power monitoring system includes an in-vehicle system that monitors a power state of a storage battery of an electric vehicle, and an out-of-vehicle system that is mounted on an out-of-vehicle apparatus and monitors power supply to the electric vehicle. The electric vehicle includes a first power feed port for supplying and receiving AC power to and from the out-of-vehicle apparatus, and a second power feed port for supplying and receiving DC power to and from the out-of-vehicle apparatus. A discharge system includes an electric car having a battery unit mounted thereon, and a discharge device that discharges the battery unit. The electric car includes a connector to which the discharge device is connected, and a power line that connects the connector and the battery unit to each other. In the power line, switches and switching elements are provided. The switches render the power line conducting upon permission from the discharge device and a battery management unit. The switching elements adjust a current flowing in the power line when the battery unit is discharged.
