There is provided a crash box comprising a pedestal portion attached to one of two members that are placed in an inward-outward direction of a vehicle; and a bottomed tubular portion integrally molded with the pedestal portion and configured to include a base end portion that is arranged to rise from the pedestal portion and an extended portion that is extended from the base end portion and that has a leading end wall which forms a bottom of the tubular portion and which is attached to the other of the two members, wherein the tubular portion is configured such that a side wall of the extended portion has a smaller thickness than a thickness of a side wall of the base end portion.

A bumper reinforcement includes a body part extending in a vehicle width direction, and a terminal part, which extends in the vehicle width direction, is attached to an end part of the body part in a longitudinal direction, and is joined to the body part in a state of being superimposed on the end part of the body part. An instrument panel reinforcement includes a cylindrical-shaped portion being formed as a single piece, being disposed at a driver's seat side, and extending in a vehicle width direction, and a groove-shaped portion being disposed at a front passenger's seat side, extending in the vehicle width direction, and opening in a predetermined direction. The instrument panel reinforcement is provided for a vehicle. The groove-shaped portion includes a reinforcement member being made of synthetic resin and mounted on a predetermined part of the groove-shaped portion, the part being away from the cylindrical-shaped portion by a predetermined distance.

Instrument panel reinforcement

The bumper reinforcement has a front surface flange, an upper surface web, a lower surface web, an upper lip, and a lower lip. An end of the upper surface web on the upper lip side is thicker than a center. When a collision load is applied to the front surface flange, the upper surface web extending in a direction orthogonal to the front surface flange from vicinity of an upper end of the front surface flange is deformed in an outward opened direction, and the upper lip extending downward from an extension end of the upper surface web is deformed in an inward closed direction.

Vehicle radiator apparatus

A bumper device for a vehicle is arranged on one of a front side and a rear side of a vehicle cabin to extend in a vehicle width direction. The bumper device for a vehicle includes: a tubular portion, which is made of metal and integrally formed so as to have a tubular shape extending in the vehicle width direction; and a reinforcing member, which is formed so as to have a plate-like shape extending in the vehicle width direction along an inner surface of the tubular portion. A foamed resin charged into the tubular portion is foamed to be increased in volume, to thereby fix the reinforcing member inside the tubular portion.

Bumper device for a vehicle

A bumper structure includes: a bumper reinforcement including: a hollow body portion extending in a vehicle width direction of a vehicle; and an extending portion arranged on one end portion of the hollow body portion in a longitudinal direction of the hollow body portion; and a side member, which is formed to extend in a vehicle front-and-rear direction of the vehicle, and is configured to support one end portion of the bumper reinforcement in a longitudinal direction of the bumper reinforcement. The extending portion includes: a proximal end portion to be sandwiched between the one end portion of the hollow body portion in the longitudinal direction of the hollow body portion and one end portion of the side member in a longitudinal direction of the side member; and a protruding portion formed to extend outward from the proximal end portion in the vehicle width direction. When an object collides against one end portion of the vehicle in the vehicle width direction to break the one end portion of the side member in the longitudinal direction of the side member, the protruding portion of the extending portion is abuttable against the projecting portion of the side member.

Bumper structure

A vehicle body front portion structure is equipped with a front side member that is disposed along a vehicle front and rear direction at a vehicle width direction outer side of a power unit disposed in a vehicle body front portion. A spacer is attached to an outside portion at the vehicle width direction outer side of the front side member. The spacer has a rear side attachment portion that is joined to the outside portion of the front side member, an outside front wall portion that is positioned at the vehicle front and rear direction front side and the vehicle width direction outer side of the rear side attachment portion, and a load transmitting rib that interconnects the outside front wall portion and the rear side attachment portion.

A tubular-shaped shock absorbing member arranged at a side end portion of a vehicle, includes outer and inner wall portions each extending in a vehicle height direction and a vehicle front-and-rear direction, the inner wall portion being arranged on a center portion side of the vehicle, an upper wall portion connected to upper end portions of the inner and outer wall portions, a lower wall portion connected to lower end portions of the inner and outer wall portions, and a horizontal rib connected to the inner and outer wall portions. A distance between the upper and lower wall portions is decreased as approaching from the inner wall portion side to the outer wall portion side. A thickness of a part of the horizontal rib connected to the outer wall portion, is larger than a thickness of a part of the horizontal rib connected to the inner wall portion.

Shock absorbing member

Provided is a bumper reinforcement to be mounted to side members arranged at both end portions of a vehicle in a vehicle width direction so as to extend in a vehicle front-and-rear direction, the bumper reinforcement including: a body section formed into a tubular shape so as to extend in the vehicle width direction of the vehicle, the body section having both end portions in the vehicle width direction, which are formed so as to extend in the vehicle width direction, and an intermediate portion in the vehicle width direction, which is formed in a protruding manner toward one of a front of the vehicle and a rear of the vehicle; and a mounting section to be mounted to one of a front end surface and a rear end surface of each of the side members, the mounting section being formed into a tubular shape extending in the vehicle width direction integrally with a side surface portion of each of the both end portions of the body section in the vehicle width direction, the side surface portion being opposed to the each of the side members.

Bumper reinforcement

A shock absorbing member provided between a side member extending in a front-rear direction of a vehicle and a bumper reinforcement extending in a vehicle width direction and provided at the side member, includes: a shock absorbing portion, which extends in the front-rear direction of the vehicle and is supported by the side member and which is configured to absorb an impact caused by a load by being compressed in the front-rear direction of the vehicle when the load is applied to the bumper reinforcement in at least one of a forward direction and a backward direction; and a bumper reinforcing portion, which extends from an end portion side closer to the side member in the impact absorbing portion toward a vehicle-width-direction outside and a bumper reinforcement side and which reinforces the vehicle-width-direction end portion side of the bumper reinforcement.

Provided is a crash box to be installed to a bumper reinforcement including an outer-wall section, an upper-wall section and a lower-wall section, an upper inner-wall section, a lower inner-wall section, and a clearance between the upper inner-wall section and the lower inner-wall section. The crash box includes a body section provided between a member of a vehicle body side and the bumper reinforcement, an upper support section provided to protrude from the body section to a bumper reinforcement side, a lower support section provided to protrude from the body section to the bumper reinforcement side, and an insertion section provided to protrude from the body section to the bumper reinforcement side, inserted from the clearance into the bumper reinforcement and contacting a lower end portion of the upper inner-wall section and an upper end portion of the lower inner-wall section.

A vehicle bumper apparatus includes a bumper reinforcement member formed to have a hollow cross section and including a vehicle interior portion formed to have an open cross section including an opening, and a crush box supporting the bumper reinforcement member to mount the bumper reinforcement member to a side member of a vehicle body, the crush box including a connecting portion arranged at a vehicle exterior portion, the connecting portion closing the opening of the bumper reinforcement member to restrict the opening from being expanded, and a retaining portion protruding from the connecting portion toward an exterior side of a vehicle to retain the bumper reinforcement member.
