A connector is attachable to an object having a lock portion. The connector includes a housing and a frame. The housing has a press portion and a support portion. The housing is fixed to the object under an attached state where the connector is attached to the object. The frame has a supported portion, a pressed portion and a locked portion. When the connector is in the attached state, the supported portion is positioned between the pressed portion and the locked portion in a front-rear direction and is supported from below by the support portion in an up-down direction perpendicular to the front-rear direction. Under the attached state, the pressed portion is pressed by the press portion from above. Under the attached state, the locked portion applies a force to the lock portion from below.

A shell of a modular jack includes soldered terminal portions connected to a substrate. The soldered terminal portions include first soldered terminal portions and second soldered terminal portions. The first soldered terminal portions are formed to extend toward the substrate from first side wall portions folded from a front surface of the housing toward a right-side surface and a left-side surface. The second soldered terminal portions are formed to extend toward the substrate from second side wall portions folded from an upper wall portion toward the right-side surface and the left-side surface of the housing, the upper wall portion being folded from the front surface of the housing toward a top surface. The first side wall portions and the second side wall portions cover the right-side surface and the left-side surface of the housing.

A card connector comprises a plurality of contacts, a frame, a shell and a locator. Each of the plurality of contacts comprises a first portion extending in a first direction and a second portion extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Each contact has substantially an L-like shape. The frame has a front end portion and a rear end portion. The rear end portion holds, in part, the first portions of the contacts. The first portions extend into a space defined by the frame toward the front end portion in the first direction. The second portions extend away from the frame in the second direction. The shell is attached to the frame. The shell shields, in part, the second portions of the contacts. The locator is supported by the shell. The locator is distinct from the shell. The locator holds, in part, the second portions of the contacts so that the second portions penetrate the locator.

Card connector

In a connector including a housing having an entrance for receiving a connection object and a contact held by the housing for connection to the connection object, a guide member is coupled to the entrance for guiding the connection object in a first direction. A guide portion is disposed near the entrance in the housing and at a first portion in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. By the use of a moving force of the connection object, the guide portion is adapted to guide the connection object toward a second portion that allows the connection object to pass therethrough.

In a connector having a guiding member for guiding movement of a connection object in a fitting direction and a removing direction opposite to each other, a connection element is coupled to the guiding member to be connected to the connection object with movement of the connection object towards the fitting direction. The connection element is movable in a first range in the fitting and the removing directions. An ejecting mechanism is coupled to the guiding member to give the connection object a moving force towards the removing direction in response to the movement towards the fitting direction of the connection object connected to the connection element.

In a card connector to be connected to a card, An ejecting member is provided so as to be movable along a predetermined plane for ejecting the card in an ejecting direction. The ejecting member has a card contacting portion to be contacted with the card and a cam-operated portion. The ejecting member is urged towards the ejecting direction by a urging member. A cam mechanism is provided so as to movable along the predetermined plane in a direction intersecting the ejecting direction. The cam mechanism is elastically supported by a supporting member so that it is disposed at a predetermined position. The cam mechanism has a cam portion for controlling a position of the ejecting member in cooperation with the cam-operated portion.

Connector which can be reduced in size

In a card connector for use in connection of a card, a guide portion connected to a connector body. The guide portion is adapted to guide movement of the card with respect to the connector body. A selecting portion is connected to the guide portion and has an engaging portion. When the card has a predetermined thickness, the selecting portion is elastically deformed by contact with the card to allow further movement of the card. When the card is thinner than the predetermined thickness, the engaging portion is engaged with the card to inhibit further movement of the card.

Card connector capable of inhibiting insertion of a thinner card with a simple structure

In a card connector having an eject mechanism for removing a card inserted at a predetermined position, the card connector has a heat radiation member which is brought into contact with the card to promote heat radiation. The heat radiation member is held by holding members to be movable with respect to the card. The card connector further has cam mechanisms acting between the holding members and eject mechanisms for removing the card. When the card is removed from the predetermined position, the card is removed after the heat radiation member is separated from the card.

A new card connector has a connector element which has, at its opposite ends, projection portions, and a frame element which has a projection guide having a laterally elongated portion in parallel to a card insertion-withdrawal direction at a coupling portion between the frame element and the connector element. When the frame element is coupled with or released from the connector element fixed to a mounting board, an upper side of the laterally elongated portion of the projection guide of the frame element is guided by the projection portion of the connector element so that any contact is prevented between a grounding metal plate of the frame element and pin contacts of the connector element. When the frame element is to be coupled with the connector element by pushing it from the above toward the connector element, a lower side portion of the laterally extended portion of the projection guide is abutted against the projection portion of the connector element and, therefore, the grounding metal plate is prevented from being contacted with the pin contacts. Thus, in coupling and decoupling between the frame element and the connector element, no special care is required so as to avoid an interference between the grounding metal plate and the pin contacts, and desirable coupling and decoupling operation can be made without damages of the pin contacts.
