A fan motor includes a motor, an impeller and a housing. The housing includes an inner wall portion, a silencer portion, and a communicating opening. The inner wall portion extends along a rotation axis to assume a tubular shape, and houses at least a portion of the impeller therein. The silencer portion includes a portion radially outside of the inner wall portion, and defines a silencing space between the inner wall portion and the silencer portion. The communicating opening brings a space inside of the inner wall portion into communication with the silencing space. A portion of the communicating opening is defined by an end portion of the inner wall portion on an inlet side. The silencing space covers only a portion of the circumferential extent of the inner wall portion. This allows the silencing space to be arranged in a dead space around the inner wall portion.

Fan motor

A dryer includes a body portion arranged to hold a motor, a first tubular portion arranged to at least partially cover an outer circumferential portion of the body portion, and a second tubular portion arranged axially behind the first tubular portion, and arranged to at least partially cover the outer circumferential portion of the body portion. An outer circumferential joining portion included in the body portion is held between an axial rear edge portion of the first tubular portion and an axial front edge portion of the second tubular portion.

Dryer

A ceiling fan blade, which is rotated by a motor unit having a center axis extending in an up-down direction, includes a blade body extending in a radial direction and including at least one slit opened at a rotation direction rear edge of the blade body. On a circumferential cross section including a rotation direction front end of the slit of the blade body, a lower end of a rotation direction front edge of the blade body is positioned at a center axis direction upper side of a lower end of the rotation direction front end of the slit. Further, a lower end of an open end of a radial outer edge of the slit is positioned axially downward of the lower end of the rotation direction front end of the slit and is positioned axially upward of a lower end of an open end of a radial inner edge of the slit.

Ceiling fan blade

A hair dryer includes a fan motor, a heater unit, and a body case arranged to cover the fan motor and the heater unit, and arranged to extend in a front-rear direction around a central axis. The fan motor includes an impeller arranged to rotate about the central axis, and a motor arranged to rotate the impeller. The body case includes an intake case portion including an air inlet, a discharge case portion including an air outlet, and an admission case portion arranged between the air inlet and the air outlet, and including an admission inlet. The intake case portion includes a suction tube portion arranged to extend toward the admission inlet. The intake case portion and the admission case portion are arranged to together define an expansion chamber arranged between the admission inlet and the air inlet and radially outside of the suction tube portion and the admission inlet.

Hair dryer

A hair dryer includes a fan motor, a heater unit, and a body case arranged to cover the fan motor and the heater unit. The fan motor includes an impeller arranged to rotate about a central axis, and a motor arranged to rotate the impeller. The body case includes an intake case portion including an air inlet, and a discharge case portion including an air outlet. Inside the body case, an inner tubular case portion arranged to extend along an inside surface of the body case is accommodated. A silencing space is defined between the inside surface of the body case and the inner tubular case portion. An opening portion is defined to join the silencing space and an interior space of the body case to each other.

Each fin of a heat sink includes a main fin connected to a core and extending radially outwards, and a pair of branch fins extending radially outwards from a branch point at a radially outer end of the main fin. Among a plurality of fins, in each of three fins which are adjacent in the circumferential direction, a width of an end portion of the main fin viewed along the center axis expands radially outwards at an angle which is larger than an expanding angle of the pair of branch fins. A difference between a distance from the center axis to the branch point in the center one of the fins and a distance from the center axis to the branch point in each of the other two fins is equal to or larger than a width of a root of the main fin in the center radiating fin.

Heat sink and heat sink fan

A blower fan includes a housing arranged to accommodate an impeller, wherein an upper surface portion of the housing includes a motor fixing portion, a peripheral portion, and a plurality of ribs interconnecting the motor fixing portion and the peripheral portion, the upper surface portion including a plurality of air intake ports defined between the motor fixing portion, the peripheral portion and the plurality of ribs being arranged to oppose the impeller; and the peripheral portion includes a peripheral low portion arranged to surround or substantially surround outer peripheries of the air intake ports and positioned lower than upper surfaces of the plurality of ribs and a peripheral high portion provided with rib extension portions continuously extending from the plurality of ribs and positioned higher than an upper surface of the peripheral low portion.

Blower fan

A heat sink fan of the present invention includes a heat sink and a fan. The heat sink includes a base having a center axis and a plurality of fins extending radially outwardly from an outer circumference of the base and disposed in a circumferential direction. The fan includes an impeller portion disposed adjacently to the heat sink in the direction along the center axis, the impeller portion rotating about the center axis, and a frame portion for covering and fixing the impeller portion, part of the frame portion being opposed to the heat sink. The frame portion has at least one protruding portion. The protruding portion enters into a space between the fins which are adjacent to each other.

Heat sink fan

A heat sink has a plurality of radially extending radiating fins, which are arranged annularly on the outer circumferential surface of a cylindrical base to be integral with that surface. The base is formed to have a cylindrical shape having a center axis. The base is formed to be solid-core. The heat sink is ground such that a cooling object contact portion having a generally cylindrical shape projects from the end surface of the heat sink in the axial direction. An annular groove is ground out along the outer circumference of a contact surface of the cooling object contact portion. An attaching member is attached on the outer circumferential surface of the cooling object contact portion, and a pressure application portion is entirely pressed by a pressing machine. The pressure application portion is plastically deformed outward in the diameter direction, so that the attaching member is fixed in between.

Radiator, heat sink fan, and radiator manufacturing method

An axial fan having a rotatable impeller is arranged above a heat sink with a rotation axis of the impeller substantially coincident with a center axis of a base portion of the heat sink. Radially outer ends of fins arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the base station define an envelope which is provided with a recess therein. The axial fan has a hosing including a surrounding portion surrounding the impeller and arms extending from the surrounding portion. Each arm is provided with an engagement portion engaging with the recess of the heat sink, so that the axial fan is secured to the heat sink. Each arm also has an attachment portion at its lower end. At the attachment portion, an assembly of the axial fan and the heat sink is attached to a motherboard with an object to be cooled mounted thereon.

Heat sink

A heat sink for dissipating a heat from an object includes a plurality of fins. The fins are arranged radially about a center axis to be spaced away from one another, and extend outward in a radial direction substantially perpendicular to the center axis. Each fin is branched at at least two different positions in the radial direction into at least three fin end portions spaced away from one another.

Heat sink and cooling apparatus

A motor includes a rotor and a stator. A shaft of the rotor is received in a sleeve. A face of the sleeve and a face of the shaft, that are opposed to each other, form a bearing supporting the rotor in a rotatable manner relative to the stator. A sleeve-retaining portion that retains the sleeve has a bottom portion opposed to an axial end of the sleeve. A magnet holder is arranged in the bottom portion to accommodate an attracting magnet magnetically attracting the axial end of the shaft. The magnet holder is held between the axial end of the sleeve and the bottom portion of the sleeve-retaining portion.
