A broadcast receiver has a GPS reception section for clocking, a TV tuner for receiving a broadcast wave of TV broadcast, and a display for displaying video information of a program transmitted by a broadcast wave, and displays video information of a plurality of programs received on a single screen of the display at the same time every hour on the hour. Accordingly, the user (viewer) can check the program contents of channels that can be received at the time of day.

A drive controller for controlling to change the orientation of a display surface of a display in accordance with the seating position of occupants aboard a vehicle. A display unit is rotatably mounted on a vehicle. A controller automatically rotates the display unit to a first position where the display surface is oriented toward a driver seat, when an occupant is seated solely in the driver seat. The controller rotates the display unit to a third position where the display surface is oriented toward a front passenger seat, when an occupant is seated solely in the front passenger seat. A display controller for controlling display on a display surface of a display unit mounted on a vehicle. The display unit is rotatably mounted on the vehicle. A CPU of a controller recognizing that the vehicle is traveling, that a display surface of a display unit is oriented toward the driver's seat, and that a moving picture is displayed on the display surface, inhibits display of the moving picture on the display unit. The CPU of the controller, recognizing that the vehicle is traveling, that the display surface of the display unit is oriented toward the driver's seat, and that a moving picture is displayed on the display surface rotates the display unit to a position where an occupant of the driver's seat cannot watch the moving picture.

Also, when access-inhibited data is present within the playback data, the scan playback of playback data is performed except the access-inhibited data.
