A recording apparatus includes a plurality of medium containing units that is provided along a vertical direction and contains a medium before recording, a liquid ejecting head that performs recording by ejecting liquid toward the medium, and at least one liquid containing unit that contains the liquid. The plurality of medium containing units includes a first medium containing unit located at an uppermost position, and a second medium containing unit located below the first medium containing unit. A size of the first medium containing unit in a medium feeding-out direction, in which the medium is fed out, is smaller than a size of the second medium containing unit in the medium feeding-out direction, and the at least one liquid containing unit is provided above the second medium containing unit in such a way as to overlap with the first medium containing unit in a vertical direction.

Recording apparatus

A recording device includes a recording unit configured to perform recording to a medium, a conveyance belt disposed facing the recording unit and configured to convey the medium, a first blade and a second blade configured to make contact with the conveyance belt and scrape out a residual of the conveyance belt, and a switching mechanism configured to switch the first blade and the second blade. When the first blade is moved to a first position where the first blade makes contact with the conveyance belt, the control unit moves the second blade to a second position where the second blade is separated from the conveyance belt, and when the second blade is moved to the first position where the second blade makes contact with the conveyance belt, the control unit moves the first blade to the second position where the first blade is separated from the conveyance belt.

Recording device

A recording device includes a recording unit configured to perform recording by discharging a droplet to a medium a conveyance belt disposed facing the recording unit and convey the medium, and a cleaning unit including a scrape unit configured to make contact with the conveyance belt and scrape off a residual at the conveyance belt. The cleaning unit includes a pressing part configured to push the scrape unit against the conveyance belt, and the scrape unit includes a sponge member configured to be pressed against the conveyance belt to scrape off the residual and a contact part of the sponge member that is brought into contact with the conveyance belt is worn.

The controller perform a cleaning operation that cleans the outer peripheral surface by moving both the cleaning portion and the transport belt in a state in which the cleaning portion is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the transport belt, and a dew condensation suppressing operation that increases a temperature of the outer peripheral surface by stopping the cleaning portion and moving the transport belt in a state in which the cleaning portion is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the transport belt.

A recording apparatus includes a recording head that performs recording on a medium, a transport belt that has an clinging surface that cling the medium, and transports the medium to a position facing the recording head, a first charging unit that is in contact with the transport belt to frictionally charge the clinging surface, and a second charging unit that applies a voltage to the transport belt to charge the clinging surface, in which a control unit, which switches between charging of the clinging surface by the first charging unit and charging of the clinging surface by the second charging unit, switches between the charging of the clinging surface by the first charging unit and the charging of the clinging surface by the second charging unit, according to a state of a surface of the medium, which is in contact with the clinging surface.

A manual paper feeding portion includes a medium placing portion on which paper to be fed is placed, a guide portion that is provided on the medium placing portion, guides a side edge of the paper in a width direction intersecting with a feeding direction, and is movable in the width direction, and a positioning mechanism that determines a position of the guide portion in the width direction, in which the positioning mechanism regulates the position of the guide portion by positioning portions arranged with a predetermined interval in a first region of a moving region of the guide portion and regulates the position of the guide portion in a stepless manner in a second region which is a region other than the first region.

Medium feeding device

A transport roller, adapted to be used in a transport apparatus that transports a medium, includes a shaft, and a wheel group. The wheel group includes a plurality of toothed wheels arrayed in a direction in which the shaft extends, the plurality of toothed wheels being held by a holder which is held by the shaft. A plurality of teeth portions are provided on a peripheral surface of the wheel group, the plurality of teeth portions being disposed to be shifted in position from each other in a circumferential direction of the wheel group when the wheel group is viewed from the direction in which the shaft extends.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a printing unit that prints an image on a sheet by using ink, a feed path along which the sheet is transported toward the printing unit, a switchback mechanism that, when two sides of the sheet are to be printed, switches back the sheet of which one of the two sides has been printed and sends the sheet to the feed path, and a correction roller pair capable of correcting skew of the sheet by having firm contact with the sheet transported along the feed path.

The object of the invention is to effectively prevent a medium from swelling due to ejected liquid, and prevent a head and the medium from contacting each other. When 'strong rubbing prevention' is selected in the 'rubbing prevention settings', the margin amount of the paper P is enlarged and printing is conducted. Therefore, by enlarging the margin amount, the paper can be prevented from swelling due to ejected ink, and the paper and the printing head can be more reliably prevented from contacting each other (paper rubbing).

Print control device, printing device and printing method

An ink jet recording method using a recording apparatus including a plurality of ink jet heads, comprising performing printing by depositing droplets of an ink composition ejected from the ink jet heads on a recording medium, wherein the ink jet heads are aligned in a direction cross to a transporting direction of the recording medium and the ink composition has a yield value of 0.50 to 2.00 mPa.

Ink jet recording method

An ink jet recording method includes ejecting at least two color ink compositions onto a recording medium so as to be deposited one on another. When one ink composition is deposited to form a first image and then another ink composition is deposited to form a second image on the first image, the ink composition forming the second image has a higher yield value than the ink composition forming the first image.

The invention provides a liquid ejecting apparatus which can prevent a target having liquid ejected thereon from warping irrespective of the type of the target. An ink jet printer includes a recording head configured to eject ink from a nozzle formed on a nozzle-formed surface onto a recording sheet being transported from an upstream side to a downstream side, and a plurality of supporting belts arranged so as to oppose the nozzle-formed surface and each having a supporting portion extending along the direction of transport of the recording sheet. The respective supporting belts are arranged so as to be capable of moving along the width direction intersecting the direction of transport of the recording sheet.

Liquid ejecting apparatus

The ink jet recording method includes performing printing by depositing droplets of an ink composition ejected from the ink ejection nozzles on a recording medium transported in the direction perpendicular to the nozzle alignment direction in such a manner that the droplets ejected from at least one ink ejection nozzle located at an end of each of ink jet heads adjacent to each other in the direction perpendicular to the nozzle alignment direction are deposited one on the other. The volume of droplet ejected from the ink ejection nozzle at the end of the ink jet head is smaller than the volume of ink droplet ejected from each of the other ink ejection nozzles of the ink jet head, and the ink composition has a yield value of 0.50 to 2.00 mPa.
