The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which polar plate deformation at the outermost periphery of an electrode body due to charge/discharge cycles can be inhibited. A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a wound electrode body in which a rectangular positive electrode and a rectangular negative electrode are wound with a separator interposed therebetween, and a metal exterior body that accommodates the electrode body. The negative electrode is exposed on the outermost peripheral surface of the electrode body, and a fixing tape that fixes the wind-terminating end of the negative electrode is affixed to the outermost peripheral surface of the electrode body. The fixing tape has a layered structure comprising two or more mutually independent layers.

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery with fixing tape having a laminated structure

A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a roll-type electrode group including positive and negative electrode plates and a tape attached to the outermost circumferential surface of the electrode group. The tape has two adhesion regions including an adhesive layer and a non-adhesion region that is interposed between the two adhesion regions and is composed of a base material layer only. The non-adhesion region straddles the rolling-end edge of at least one of the positive or negative electrode active material layer on the roll inner side of the positive or negative electrode collector and the positive or negative electrode active material layer on the roll outer side of the positive or negative electrode collector in the positive or negative electrode plate when the electrode group is viewed from a roll center axis toward the outside of the roll.

Non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

The present disclosure aims to provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which electrode plate deformation in association with charge/discharge cycles is suppressed. A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which is one example of an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a winding type electrode body (). The electrode body () is provided with a tape () adhered to an exposed portion () which is provided at an outermost circumferential surface and at which a negative electrode collector is exposed. The tape () is adhered to the exposed portion () so as not to be overlapped with at least one of a winding-finish side end () of positive electrode mixture layers and a winding-finish side end () of negative electrode mixture layers in a radius direction of the electrode body ().

Nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery

The purpose of the present disclosure is to prevent, in a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, a tape adhered to an outermost peripheral surface of an electrode group from breaking due to charging and discharging. A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a winding-type electrode group and tapes adhered to an outermost peripheral surface of the electrode group so that an electrode group winding end E is fixed to the outermost peripheral surface of the electrode group. The tapes include: two adhesive regions including a substrate layer and an adhesive layer; and a non-adhesive region sandwiched between the two adhesive regions and consisting only of the substrate layer. The non-adhesive region is disposed so as to extend across the winding end E, which is positioned on the outermost periphery of the electrode group, in the winding direction.

This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a winding-type electrode group which comprises a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate, and tape adhered on the peripheral surface of the electrode group. A current collector of the negative electrode plate is exposed in at least part of the outermost peripheral surface of the electrode group in the winding direction, and the current collector contacts a case body. The tape comprises a base material layer and an adhesive layer arranged continuously in the winding direction on the inner surface of the wound base material layer. Dividing the region seen from the wound inner surface of the tape into first regions configured from the base material layer and second regions configured from the base material layer and the adhesive layer, the first regions are interposed between second regions in at least part of the area of the tape in the winding direction.

A current collector of the negative electrode plate is exposed in at least part of the outermost peripheral surface of the electrode group in the winding direction, and the current collector contacts a case body. The tape comprises a base material layer and an adhesive layer arranged continuously in the winding direction on the inner surface of the wound base material layer. Dividing the region of the tape, seen from the wound inner surface, into first regions configured from the base material layer and second regions configured from the base material layer and the adhesive layer, in the winding axial direction of the electrode group, the first regions are arranged adjacent to a second region in at least the center end of the electrode group on the both ends of the tape.
