The invention provides a blood filter cartridge which is made so that the filtrate discharged from the filtrate outlet is not drawn back to the inside of the filtering chamber. The blood filter cartridge includes a blood filtering material, a holder containing the blood filtering material and having a blood inlet and a filtrate outlet, and a filtrate receiver which receives the filtrate discharged from the filtrate outlet. In a biochemical analysis apparatus, a dry-type frameless chemical analysis film having a base and a reagent layer formed thereon is taken out from a cartridge in which a plurality of such frameless chemical analysis films are stacked. Then the film is spotted with a sample liquid and is transferred to a cell in an incubator to be incubated at a constant temperature, whereby coloring reaction between the reagent layer and a particular biochemical component in the sample liquid is caused and the optical density of the coloring matter formed is measured. A horseshoe-like film transfer member receives the film taken out from the cartridge and inserts it into the cell while holding it, and a suction member enters the cell from below the cell and holds the film inserted by the film transfer member.

When spotting a sample liquid onto a plurality of frameless chemical analysis films, a predetermined amount of the sample liquid is sucked into a spotting tip, the lower end of the spotting tip is brought into contact with the surface of each chemical analysis film and the pressure in the spotting tip is increased to discharge the sample liquid therein onto the surface of the chemical analysis film while lifting the spotting tip away from the surface of the film. When a first chemical analysis film includes a component which can deteriorate the accuracy of measurement of the analyte for the second frameless chemical analysis film, the sample liquid is spotted, before the second chemical analysis film after the first chemical analysis film, on a third frameless chemical analysis film which does not include a component which can deteriorate the accuracy of measurement of the analyte of the second chemical analysis film and the analyte of which is not such that the accuracy of its measurement is substantially affected by a component of the first chemical analysis film which can be transferred to the third chemical analysis film.

A dry chemical analysis film deposited with a sample liquid is inserted into an incubator to be incubated at a predetermined temperature, a coloring reaction of the chemical analysis film is measured after the incubation and then the chemical analysis film is discharged from the incubator. A plurality of chemical analysis films are subjected to these steps one by one after the preceding chemical analysis film is discharged from the incubator.
