A copying apparatus capable of performing a first preset number of copying operations corresponding to a first original document in a successive copying operation mode, and performing a second preset number of copying operations corresponding to a second original document in an intruded copying operation mode includes preset number display elements for indicating a first and second preset numbers, first counter for counting a number of copying operations, a copy number display element for indicating a value counted by the first counting means, a second counter for counting a discharged copy paper after the completion of a copying operation, and a detector for detecting a jam of the copy paper. The counted value of the first counter is revised so as to be equal to the counted value of the second counter when a copy paper jam occurs.

Copying apparatus

A copy paper feeding device for a copying apparatus includes a plurality of cassettes which are capable of storing copy paper sheets and a feeder which respectively corresponds to each of the cassettes. Each feeder is selectively driven so as to feed the copy paper sheets in the case where the cassettes store copy paper sheets having different sizes and each feeder is driven in a predetermined order so as to feed the copy paper sheets from one cassette until the cassette is empty and then successively feed the copy paper sheets from the remaining cassette in the case where the cassettes store copy paper sheets having the same size. The copy paper feeding device includes a selector for selecting which feeder is to be driven.

Copy paper feeding device for a copying apparatus

An exposure adjustment device for an electrostatic copying apparatus provides that electric power of an exposure lamp is controlled by pressing a key so as to cause copy density over a surface of a photoconductive member to be adjusted. The exposure lamp is energized electrically subsequent to change a of copy density from a set level to a standard level predetermined for obtaining an ordinary copy when a period predetermined by a timer elapses after copying operation finished and/or after the key is operated. This results in that the copy density of exposure is accomplished properly even if an operator forgets to adjust the copy density of exposure.

Exposure adjustment device for electrostatic copying apparatus

An electrostatic photographic copying apparatus comprising a frame member having a transparent plate on which to place an original to be copied, a rotatable photosensitive drum having an electrostatic photographic material on its periphery, an optical system for projecting an image of the original onto the surface of the photographic material, an image-forming zone disposed exteriorly of, and alongside, the periphery of said photo-sensitive drum for forming on said sensitive material an electrostatic latent image corresponding to the image of the original or a developed image corresponding to the latent image, a transfer zone for transforming said image to a transfer paper, and a transfer paper forwarding system for feeding the transfer paper on which the image has been transferred to a discharge end through a desired treating zone.

Electrostatic photographic copying apparatus

An electrostatic photographic copying apparatus includes an optical system for projecting an image of an original onto the surface of a photosensitive drum. The system consists of openings for exposure of the original and the photosensitive drum, first and second reflex mirrors, and a mirror lens. The mirror lens is disposed so that light from the original is reflected by the first reflex mirror into said mirror lens and from the mirror lens back to the first reflex mirror. The light from the original is then reflected by the first reflex mirror to the second reflex mirror and from the second reflex mirror onto the photosensitive drum to thereby form a four-fold reverse image of the original being copied.

Compact optical system for an electrostatic photographic copying

Apparatus for preventing successive jamming of copy sheets in copying apparatus of the type including a forwarding mechanism for moving a copy sheet along a running path through a treatment zone for forming a visible image on the copy sheets and a copy sheet feeding mechanism, the successive jamming prevention apparatus including one or more detecting members disposed at detecting points in the running path so that at least one of the detecting members will contact a copy sheet at any position in the running path, a switch having normally closed contacts opened in response to contact of any of the detecting members with a copy sheet to prevent actuation of the copy sheet feeding mechanism and normally open contacts closed in response to contact of any of the detecting members with a copy sheet to provide an alarm signal.

Apparatus for preventing successive jamming of copy sheets in copying

A photosensitive drum-type electrostatic copying apparatus includes a size designating member disposed adjacent to the original to be copied. The size designating member is connected by a cable to a position adjusting member that is rotatably mounted coaxially with the drum. As the size designated member is moved, the position adjusting member is rotated to position a switch in correspondence to the desired length of the original to be copied and the transfer paper. The position of the switch determines the length of the transfer paper by activating a cutter when the desired length of the transfer paper is sensed by the switch.

Electrostatic copying apparatus having copy paper cut length control

An electrostatic photographic copying apparatus wherein the image-forming device, the optical device, the transfer device and the transfer paper transferring device are controlled according to the rotation of the rotary drum so that one cycle of the copying operation is completed while the rotating drum, equipped with a photosensitive element on which to form an image, is rotated through two turns. Substantially the entire surface of the rotary drum can be utilized as an image-forming area by rotating the rotary drum through two turns in one cycle of the copying operation.

A copying machine of the diazo type comprises a light exposure zone for exposing to light a diazo type photosensitive sheet superposed with an original, a development zone for developing the light exposed photosensitive sheet and a delivery mechanism for feeding the original and diazo type photosensitive sheet to the light exposure zone and forwarding the light exposed photosensitive sheet to the development zone. The light exposure zone includes a transparent cylinder capable of rotating while having a superposed assembly of the original and photosensitive sheet closely contacting the outer surface thereof and a heat-generating light source mounted in the interior of the transparent cylinder. The transparent cylinder has a fan for feeding cold air into the transparent cylinder from one end thereof and cooling the outer surface of the transparent cylinder substantially uniformly along the entire length thereof and a temperature-detecting mechanism thermoconductively contacting the outer surface of the transparent cylinder to detect the temperature of the outer surface. A temperature-controlling mechanism is provided to control the air feed rate of the fan in response to signals from the temperature detecting mechanism, to control the temperature of the outer surface of the transparent cylinder within a predetermined temperature range.

A versatile electrostatic copying machine which can provide not only ordinary black-and-white and monochromatic copies and ordinary multi-colored copies but also artificial monochromatic and multi-colored copies of desired optional colors differing from colors of originals conveniently with ease without such troubles as color mingling and paper jamming is disclosed, said copying machine comprising an original-light exposing zone for irradiating an original to be copied in the stationary or moving state by a light source, a photosensitive layer-light exposing zone for light-exposing imagewise a statically charged photosensitive layer, an optical system for optically connecting said original-light exposing zone to the photosensitive layer-light exposing zone and projecting an image of the original on the photosensitive layer and a development mechanism for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive layer directly or after it has been transferred onto a transfer paper, wherein said optical system comprises a light-selecting mechansim for selecting an optional light from white light and color-separated lights and exposing the photosensitive layer to said selected light and an exposure light quantity-adjusting mechanism for adjusting the exposure light quantity to an optimum quantity with respect to each of a plurality of said lights, the development mechanism comprises a development operation-selecting mechanism for selecting an optional development operation among a plurality of development operations differing in the toner hue, and said light-selecting mechanism and development operation-selecting mechanism are actuated independently or in the state interlocked with each other so that a copy having a desired coloring effect can be obtained.
