A blade driving device includes an opening forming member, and a plurality of groups of blades that are pivotably disposed in a ring form around an opening portion of the opening forming member. The plurality of groups of blades include a first group of blades and a second group of blades, in a process of changing from a first circular light passage opening formed by the first group to a second circular light passage opening formed by the second group, the first group that is adjacent to the second group and has finished forming the first circular light passage opening remains in the opening portion, thereby acting to substantially suppressing warp, in an optical axis direction, of the second group that forms the second circular light passage opening on an inner side thereof.

A device according to the present invention includes at least one first light amount adjustment blade moving rectilinearly in a direction crossing a light passage direction and at least one second light amount adjustment blade pivoting within a plane crossing the light passage direction. When a light passage aperture of a polygonal shape formed by annularly superposing the first light amount adjustment blade and the second light amount adjustment blade is enlarged, a shape of the light passage aperture comes close to a circular shape from a polygonal shape.

A light-quantity control apparatus includes multiple light-quantity control blades each configured to overlap with at least another one of the light-quantity control blades so as to form a light-passing aperture and each configured to rotate to change a size of the light-passing aperture. Each of the multiple light-quantity control blades includes a thick portion and a thin portion. The thick portion forms an outer end portion on an opposite side to the light-passing aperture in a rotation direction of the light-quantity control blade. The thin portion is formed in an aperture side blade area that overlaps with the at least another one of the multiple light-quantity control blades so as to form part of a circular overlap of the multiple light-quantity control blades and that includes an inner edge forming an edge of the light-passing aperture.

The light-quantity control apparatus includes a base member having an opening allowing light to pass therethrough, a first aperture blade movable in a direction orthogonal to a light passing direction, a second aperture blade rotatable in a surface orthogonal to the light passing direction, and a driving lever to be rotated by a driver to drive the first and second aperture blades. The base member has a protruding portion engaging with a groove portion provided in the first aperture blade, the second aperture blade has a driving cam groove portion with which a driving pin provided in the driving lever slidably engages and a rotation center hole portion with which the protruding portion engages. The second aperture blade is rotated about the protruding portion by sliding of the driving pin with respect to the driving cam groove portion with rotation of the driving lever.
