A focal-plane shutter for a camera includes two shutter blades each of which comprises two opaque plates. At least one of the two plates has a slit and is held at two points by two arms such that the plates move like a pantograph. The arms are pivotally mounted by eccentric pins to provide for adjusting the parallelism of the blades.

Focal-plane shutter

A focal-plane shutter for use in a camera. The shutter has a driving lever which can be driven with a substantially uniform force. The shutter comprises a closing member for actuating closing blades, the driving lever that urges the closing member to perform an exposure operation, a tension spring connecting the driving lever with the closing member, a brake lever, and an anchoring lever. The brake lever has a retaining portion that retains the closing member in its exposure end position. The anchoring lever has an anchoring portion which, when the closing member is in its exposure end position, moves out of the operating range of the closing member.

A focal plane shutter camera including a first chamber forming section having a baseplate with a shutter opening formed therein and which accommodates shutter blades and including a second chamber forming section which accommodates shutter controlling members. A lower plate structure member is assembled to a baseplate structure member and is provided with a lower plate for partitioning the first and second chambers.

Focal plane shutter-type camera

In a camera having a lens shutter and a focal-plane shutter accomplishing the operations of programed exposure and aperture control, a flash photography changeover device includes a first changeover circuit for setting a lens shutter mode for operating the lens shutter as a programed shutter or a focal-plane shutter mode for controlling the shutter speed by the focal-plane shutter and the aperture by the lens shutter; a first driving device for controlling the programed exposure value and/or the aperture value of the lens shutter; a second driving device for controlling the shutter speed of the focal-plane shutter; a sequence control circuit for controlling the operating timings of the two driving devices; a setting circuit for selecting and setting automatic exposures with a natural light and a flash light; and a coercive changeover circuit for setting the lens shutter mode irrespective of the setting of the first changeover circuit when the setting circuit is set to the automatic exposure with the flash light. The setting circuit and the coercive changeover circuit may be replaced by a determining circuit for detecting and determining a limit shutter speed at which the focal-plane shutter is synchronized with the flash light; and a coercive changeover circuit for setting the lens shutter mode irrespective of the setting of the first changeover circuit for setting the shutter mode, when the determining circuit determines that the shutter speed exceeds the limit speed.

Flash photography changeover device

A camera having a focal plane shutter comprising two sets of blades which are movable to form a slit which opens a shutter aperture includes a body formed from a plastic material. A rail plate having a plurality of film guide rails is attached to the camera body. A plurality of drive shafts are provided on the camera body or the rail plate for supporting at least the blades. The camera body and the rail plate define therebetween a space in which the blades are housed.

Camera having a focal plane shutter

A focal plane shutter for a camera comprising two sets of parallel blades positioned between the plane of a lens in the camera and the plane of a film set therein and in a parallel relation thereto. These sets of blades are movable in opposite directions between a first position in which they are unfolded to close a shutter aperture and a second position in which they are folded to form a slit to open the shutter aperture. Every two adjoining blades in each set of blades has a smaller overlapping width in their first position than in their second position. This overlapping width in the first position is smaller between two adjoining blades closer to the lens plane than between two adjoining blades closer to the film plane.
