A resin composition for an optical communication component includes a base resin and silica. The base resin contains a polyether ether ketone resin as a main component. The content of the silica in the resin composition is 55 to 75 mass %.

An optical connector includes: an optical fiber; a ferrule with an insertion hole that accommodates the optical fiber; a housing that accommodates the ferrule and that includes two lock holes formed therein; two springs that sandwich the optical fiber therebetween, and that bias the ferrule in a forward direction of the optical connector; and a support portion that supports the two springs from a rear direction of the optical connector. The support portion includes a first divided member that is combined with a second divided member and two latch portions locked in the two lock holes. When the insertion hole extends is the front and the rear directions, the two springs are disposed along left and right directions of the optical connector, and a vertical direction is orthogonal to the front, rear, right, and left directions, the two latch portions are disposed side by side in the vertical direction.

Optical connector

An optical connector includes optical fibers, a ferrule, and a pitch fixing member. The optical fibers have bare parts where coating parts have been stripped off. The ferrule has insertion holes, and the bare parts are inserted into the insertion holes. The pitch fixing member is inserted into the ferrule and has fixing parts that fix a pitch of the coating parts of the optical fibers to a pitch of the insertion holes.

An optical connector system includes: a first optical connector including a first ferrule and a first housing that houses the first ferrule; and a second optical connector including a second ferrule that connects to the first ferrule, a second inner housing that houses the second ferrule, and a second outer housing that houses the second inner housing. The second optical connector detachably connects to the first optical connector. The first housing includes a latch receptacle and a latch releaser. The second inner housing includes a front latch that latches to the latch receptacle and a rear latch that latches to the second outer housing.

An optical connector system includes: a first optical connector that includes a first shutter; and a second optical connector to be connected to the first optical connector. The first shutter opens by inclining toward the second optical connector when the first shutter comes into contact with the second optical connector.

An optical connector includes: a ferrule; a housing that houses a floating mechanism that retractably presses the ferrule; a coupling attached to an outside of the housing; and a boot attached to a rear side of a spring push of the floating mechanism. The spring push includes: a tube part; a flange section formed on an outer circumference of the tube part; a groove part formed closer to a front side of the tube part than the flange section; and a projection that protrudes outward from a portion of an outer surface of the groove part. The boot includes: a claw part that is formed on a front edge of a front opening of the boot and that hooks onto the groove part; and a recess that is formed in the front edge of the front opening of the boot and that engages with the projection.

An optical connector includes: a housing that retractably accommodates a ferrule; a spring that is accommodated in the housing to press the ferrule to a front side; and an engaging member connected to one end of the spring, fixed to the housing by engaging with the housing, and including a pair of arm parts arranged to sandwich the spring. When a direction perpendicular to a direction in which the spring presses the ferrule and to a direction in which the pair of arm parts is lined up is an up-down direction, window parts are arranged on both sides in the up-down direction of the housing. The engaging member includes: claw parts that are provided on an upper and a lower side of the pair of arm parts to engage with the window parts; and deformation parts that allow the claw parts to be displaced in the up-down direction.

An optical connector includes: a ferrule including a guide pin hole, a plurality of fiber holes lined up in a width direction of the optical fiber, and an inclined end face; a housing in which the ferrule is retractably housed; and an application part that applies an upward force to the ferrule in an upward/downward direction when the optical connector connects with a counterpart connector in a connecting/disconnecting direction. The upward/downward direction is a height direction of the optical connector and is orthogonal to both the connecting/disconnecting direction and the width direction. The inclined end face projects upward toward the counterpart connector.

Optical connector and method for connecting optical connector

An optical connector includes: an optical receptacle; and an optical plug that is attachable to and detachable from the optical receptacle. The optical receptacle includes receptacle-side connector modules that each include: an outer housing; an inner housing; a receptacle-side ferrule housed in the inner housing; and a receptacle-side spring that applies pressure to the receptacle-side ferrule. The optical plug includes plug-side connector modules that each include: a plug-side housing; a plug-side ferrule housed in the plug-side housing; and a plug-side spring that applies pressure to the plug-side ferrule. The inner housing includes an engagement section. The plug-side housing includes an engaged section.

An optical connector includes: a plurality of first ferrules; a first housing that houses the plurality of first ferrules; a plurality of second ferrules; and a second housing that houses the plurality of second ferrules. The first housing includes: a plurality of first inner housings; and a first outer housing. The optical connector butt-couples the first ferrules and the second ferrules, respectively, by mating the first housing and the second housing. Each of the plurality of first inner housings houses at least one of the plurality of first ferrules. The first outer housing is releasable from the plurality of first inner housings. The plurality of first inner housings and the second housing are mated in stages. When each of the plurality of first inner housings and the second housing are mated, each of the plurality of first inner housings to be mated is released from the first outer housing.

An optical connector attached to a plurality of buffered optical fibers each including: a bare optical fiber; and a tube in which the bare optical fiber is inserted in. A multi-fiber optical connector is connected to first ends of the buffered optical fibers, and a plurality of single-fiber optical connectors are respectively connected to second ends of the buffered optical fibers. The multi-fiber optical connector includes: a ferrule fixed to ends of the bare optical fibers; a connector housing that houses the ferrule therein; and a tube fixing portion that fixes the tubes to the connector housing. The buffered optical fiber has a bare fiber fixing portion in which the bare optical fiber and the tube are fixed at a location closer to the ferrule than the tube fixing portion within the multi-fiber optical connector.

Optical connector with optical fibers and method for manufacturing the same

An optical connector includes: a housing that houses a ferrule; a mounting member that movably attaches the housing to a board in a direction perpendicular to connector insertion and removal directions; and a first elastic member arranged between the mounting member and the housing. The housing is held in the mounting member via the elastic member and a space is maintained between a peripheral surface of the housing and the mounting member.

An optical connector includes: a ferrule that has a brim part; an elastic member that presses the ferrule; a housing that houses the ferrule retractably, and the housing has a protrusion that contacts the brim part of the ferrule, which is pressed by the elastic member in which the protrusion prevents the ferrule from falling out forward; and a regulating part that regulates a rear side limiting position of the ferrule. An interval from a position of the ferrule to the rear side limiting position when the connector is connected is smaller than a retraction amount that the ferrule has retracted when the connector is connected.
