A power line communication system includes a master side transceiver of a master communication device, a slave side transceiver of a slave communication device, a power wire, and a ground wire. The master communication device includes a voltage changeover portion changing supply voltage in steps. The master side transceiver is connected to the slave side transceiver through the power wire and the ground wire. The slave side transceiver transmits first information to the master side transceiver by a differential transmission. The voltage changeover portion changes the supply voltage so as the master side transceiver to transmit second information to the slave side transceiver. A master communication device includes a master side transceiver and a voltage changeover portion.

Power line communication system and master communication device

A distortion compensation system includes a first communication node including a first reception unit including an equalizer configured by a first digital filter unit and a first transmission unit including an emphasis circuit configured by a second digital filter unit, and a second communication node including a second transmission unit transmitting a training pattern before receiving normal data from the first communication node. The equalizer converges a filter constant of the first digital filter unit so that an error of the received training pattern is converged. The first transmission unit performs a distortion compensation using the converged filter constant of the first digital filter unit as at least a part of a filter constant of the second digital filter unit of the emphasis circuit, and then transmits the data.

Distortion compensation system and communication apparatus

A communication apparatus encodes a transmission target data according to a PAM5 mode to generate PAM signals, applies a pulse shaping to the generated PAM signals with a pulse shaping filter to provide pulse-shaped PAM signals, and inputs the pulse-shaped PAM signals into a digital-analog converter. The pulse shaping filter designates a transfer function G(z) as G1(z)=0.667+0.333z^&#x2212;1 that is approximated to G0(z)=(&#x2154;)+(&#x2153;)z^&#x2212;1.

Communication apparatus

An ECU of a transmission side performs a first conversion of converting a single bit of original baseband data into a four-bit bit pattern, which indicates one of two kinds of '0' and '1' of the single bit, to thereby prepare after-conversion baseband data, and transmits the after-conversion baseband data as transmission data to a transmission line. An ECU of a reception side restores the original baseband data by performing a second conversion of the received transmission data. The second conversion is the reverse of the first conversion. The ECU of the transmission side transmits the transmission data that includes a training pattern, which indicates a bit period of the transmission data, in addition to the after-conversion baseband data. The ECU of the reception side specifies the bit period of the transmission data based on the training pattern in the received transmission data.
