Since a compound represented by general formula (1), its pharmaceutically acceptable salt and a hydrate of the pharmaceutically acceptable salt have high antipsychotic activity, they may be used as an active ingredient for preparation of an antipsychotic. ##STR1## Also provided are an optical resolution method of the above compound and an intermediate for preparation of the compound.

A phthalocyanine represented by the formula (1) ##STR1## wherein each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is independently an alkyl group substituted by 0 to 5 halogen atoms and having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group substituted by 0 to 5 halogen atoms and having 2 to 20 carbon atoms or an alkynyl group substituted by 0 to 5 halogen atoms and having 2 to 20 carbon atoms, and at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is substituted by the halogen atom; X is a halogen atom; each of k, l, m and n is independently a value of from 0 to 3; each of o, p, q and r is independently a value of 0, 1 or 2, and all of them are not 0 simultaneously; each sum of k and o, l and p, m and q, and n and r is independently in the range of from 0 to 4; Met is two hydrogen atoms, a di, monosubstituted tri, disubstituted ter metal atom or an oxymetal atom. The above phthalocyanins can be used to provide optical recording medium.

Phthalocyanine compounds represented by the below-described formula are suitable for use in the fabrication of color filters. ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.8, R.sup.9, R.sup.12, R.sup.13 and R.sup.16 represent a group represented by the below-described formula, H or a halogen atom, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.6, R.sup.7, R.sup.10, R.sup.11, R.sup.14 and R.sup.15 represent an alkyl, alkoxyl, alkylthio, alkylamino, dialkylamino or aryloxyl, arylthio group or --COOR.sup.17, R.sup.17 being a particular monovalent group, H or a halogen atom; and Met represents a metal atom. ##STR2## wherein X and Z represent O or S, R.sup.18, R.sup.19 and R.sup.20 represent H or an alkyl group, A, B and D represent a connecting group, n and l is an integer of 0-10, m, q, t, u, r and w are an integer of 0-2, and p is 0 or 1.

A phthalocyanine represented by the formula (1) ##STR1## wherein each of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is independently an alkyl group substituted by 0 to 5 halogen atoms and having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group substituted by 0 to 5 halogen atoms and having 2 to 20 carbon atoms or an alkynyl group substituted by 0 to 5 halogen atoms and having 2 to 20 carbon atoms, and at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is substituted by the halogen atom; X is a halogen atom; each of k, l, m and n is independently a value of from 0 to 3; each of o, p, q and r is independently a value of 0, 1 or 2, and all of them are not 0 simultaneously; each sum of k and o, l and p, m and q, and n and r is independently in the range of from 0 to 4; Met is two hydrogen atoms, a divalent metal atom, a trivalent mono-substituted metal atom, a tetravalent di-substituted metal atom or an oxy-metal atom; an optical recording medium formed by adding this phthalocyanine to a recording layer; and a near infra-red absorbing agent comprising the phthalocyanine. The above-mentioned phthalocyanine can be used to provide the optical recording medium having excellent characteristics of reflectance, sensitivity, recording properties, stability to reproduction light, shelf stability and the like.

Near-infrared absorbers which contain phthalocyanine derivatives in which the four benzene rings contained in the molecule independently have 1 to 4 substituents are light and thermal resistant and possess high molar extinction coefficients. Such near-infrared absorbers are useful in optical recording media, near-infrared absorption filters, and liquid crystal display devices.

Alkylphthalocyanine near-infrared absorbers and recording/display

Antipsychotics and ischemic cerebral disease therapeutics comprising as an effective ingredient a compound represented by the following formula (1) or (2): ##STR1## or a salt thereof. These drugs do not induce extrapyramidal side effects.

The invention discloses a CD-WO type optical recording medium which has a constitution obtained by successively laminating a recording layer, a metal reflection layer and a protective layer; is prepared by using in the recording layer a colorant having a melting point of 150.degree. to 300.degree. C., decomposition initiating temperature of 200.degree. to 350.degree. C., and .lambda. max of 720 nm; and has high sensitivity, low recording distortion and high durability. The colorant can be enhanced its effect by introducing halogen atoms.

Halogenated alkoxyphthalocyanine having a controlled grade of halogenation can be prepared by reacting a single compound or a mixture of phthalocyanine represented by the formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group and may be the same or different, and Met is two hydrogen atoms, a divalent metal atom or a trivalent or tetravalent metal derivative, with 1 to 6 mole ratio of a halogenating agent at 0.degree. to 260.degree. C. in a solvent of from 1 to 1000 times by weight.
